What's the procedure for replacing the door speakers for the Sanyo audio unit in my '06 GT?

I don't think that has ever been asked before since that system is on the rare side. I would think it would be simple enough. Take door panel off and replace. As I remember, there Are no crossovers or anything complicated.

The GT Paint & Option Matrix shows 63 Base Radios (Sanyo) in '05 and 452 in '06 = 515 total (12.8%)

It shows that because the Canadian cars were only equipped with them. No Macs.

How many Canadian cars were there?

If I remember correctly, the last 100 cars which we saw at Rally I were all Canada bound. I would say probably 400 total.

Beware of the sharpness of the aluminum trim rings on the doors.

I was removing mine last week for some new double sided tape and in a instant I was off to urgent care for stitches.

Do you want to upgrade the speakers or replace with stock? If the latter, you can rebuild the OEM speakers with new foam. DO NOT throw away the old speakers (or, for that matter, any part for this car). As for removing the door trim ring/door panel, I was able to install the speakers without fully removing the panel.
