When asking $1,000,000.00 for a car, you should at least take some decent pictures:frown

Actually, there are some Lehman bonus futures behind those bonds, which are actually Ferrari deposit puts...which will be = $0.

The eBay ad, in the "Features" section, states that the car has "Traction Control." Anyone familiar with that, or do you think it's an ad mistake?

Yes, the Sonic Blue car has Traction control, Navigation, power heated seats, AWD and the comfort pkg...... :lol

No, only difference is this car and any other GT is the Color. I do think the car is a true collector piece, but I think your collection would be much better off at this time with $1,000,000 dollars in it rather than the Sonic Blue. As I said, ONE DAY, but not today........

I will never say never though. I have seen cars go for way more than I thought they were worth. :confused

A car that already sold for $355k is worth $200k? I'm sure they offer thanks for your expert opinion.

Sonic Blue

This is not a unique GT. Rare yes. Unique no.

The first Sonic Blue GT, and the first privately owned GT, still resides in Bellevue, Washington.

I believe the MS guy in Bellevue bought the 1st GT in Midnight Blue, not Sonic, during a Pebble Beach Auction.

I kinda think this is true as well. The first publically owned GT was auctioned off at Pebble Beach before the car was even built. Winner got a trip to Wixom to see the first car off the line. The retired Microsoft exec, Jon Shirley paid around $557.5K (net) for an $165K MSRP car which got all the dealers thinking there was a lot of money to be made when and if they got an 05 GT allocation. Thus the sky high prices for the early 05's off the line. The first publically owned GT (chassis S/N 10) was midnight blue with white stripes, McIntosh, BBS wheels and grey painted calipers.

Believe there is only one "sonic" blue GT which was a "one-off" factory produced GT Ford did for the American Cancer Society aution to help them raise money for the cause. It was auctioned off 10 Sept 2005 and went for big money as well and now appears to have resurfaced for sale.

Sonic Blue GT in the World Registry

Believe there is only one "sonic" blue GT...

Bill is correct. For the record, it's worth noting in this thread what SAAC's World Registry of Cobras and GT40s (4th Edition, 2008) says about...

The first car delivered to the public (page 1335):
"1FAFP90S45Y400010. Painted Midnight Blue Metallic with White roof and side stripes. Built 7/23/04. Four option car: Racing Stripes, McIntosh Audio System, Grey brake calipers, Lightweight forged BBS wheels. First car delivered to the public, 08/06/04. The right to purchase the "first production car" (built to the winning bidder's specs) was auctioned off at Christie's Pebble Beach Auction (Monterey, CA) 8/21/04 with proceeds going to charity. Jon Shirley (Medina, WA), a retired Microsoft executive with an extensive exotic car collection [including a nice 289 Cobra] was the winning bidder at $557,000." On page 1234, the Registry lists Jon Shirley as the owner; data as of May 2008.

The Sonic Blue car (page 1350):
"1FAFP90SX5Y400349. Painted Sonic Blue with White roof and side stripes. The only GT painted with a body color of Sonic Blue. Car was specially ordered with unique color by Chris Theodore (a Ford VP). When Ford upper management found out, they put a "stop build" order on it. Eventually it was decided to donate the car to charity. Auctioned off to benefit the American Cancer Society 9/1005 (sic) at the American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball (Detroit, MI). Car was autographed by William Clay Ford, Jr. and Camillo Pardo on 8/4/05." The owner is not listed in the Registry, data as of January 2008.

The dates in the Jon Shirley car listing don't seem to make sense to me, but I'm quoting exactly what the registry says. I'm sure there are some build team members (Rich?) who have some interesting things to add about both of these cars.
