Short Shift Kit- yeah or nay

I don't know the origin of this short throw, but my 2nd Shelby GT had the Hurst STF and wow, what a difference it made. It made a regular shifter seem sloppy by comparison. I'm assuming the same will be true of the FGT.

Is it easier or harder to get into 3rd instead of 1st with the STF?

I've heard that a few of the upgrade parts from FRPP for the FGT are no longer available. Is the continued presence in the list at Ford Racing Parts an indication that the item is still available? (The short throw shifter happens to still be listed.) When I get one if it does not already have it the pulley and shifter will be the first two upgrades.

The short shifter is going to be installed at the Barn on 9/17 by the GT Guys, I'll post up my impressions after the ride home!!! I'm looking forward to having that, the clamshell release lever upgrade, and just some regular maintenance done, but the meeting of the regulars will be the icing on the cake.
