I finally got my GT yesterday. I must say although I did not get my car from Shelby since my criteria was so limited as well as my budget; Shelby helped me step by step. Living in LA we tend to get so jaded and it is so refreshing to see there are still good people out there. He sincerely guided me to get the car I wanted. Yes with no expectations at all!!!:thumbsup:cheers He even called me from his son's graduation to refer me to the best transport guy (Tony@DNA Transport) to get the car to me. I am amazed and extremely greatful. He is like the big brother watching over us all. Thank you Shelby and I hope to meet you in the near future.

I bought my GT from Shelby and would agree with everything you said. He made the transaction effortless. I have never had a better transaction in all the years I've been purchasing autos. I have yet to have a bad experience with anyone I've dealt with on the forum. :thumbsup

"his son" you holding out on me shelby?

I have custody of my brothers 4 1/2 year old son. My brothers the kid that never grew up. Good person, but still a kid inside. We wanted to give him (brothers kid) a stable living environment and We love him like he's our own. Have had full custody for about 6 months, but he has been living with us for about a year. He was graduating pre-k the other night when I walked to you Arya. And, he is totally obsessed with cars (go figure). Oh, and the wife is 6 months preg, so I went from NO KIDS last year this time to having two by the end of summer. What am I gonna do? :willy

This just reinforces the fact that Dave and the moderators screen our supporting vendors very well. They are all here to serve our car needs and all are top-notch. So support them!

Effer-Man, glad you have joined our ranks and congratulation! Have one of the moderators change you from Spectator to GT owner for the recognition you now deserve.

Welcome to the party!!!

Status Change

I am not a techie and cannot figure out how to have my status chaged from Spectator to Tungsten 06 Owner with all options. How do I reach the moderator? I feel dumb asking this but I am not familiar with using this site yet and barely know how to post ...

Not to worry, you are in good hands and after reading active or archived posts for a while you will get the hang of it.

The moderators review all our posts and either Chip or Shelby#18 will see the posts and hopefully change you over to owner. Believe you should go to the GT Registry as well and "register" although it has been so long for me since I registered (showing my age) someone else might post up the procedure.

Again welcome and the group on our Forum is very special as you will soon learn. Time for Chip to chime in here....

Status changed to custodian.

EFFER-MAN,

Welcome to the brotherhood. I see your status was changed before I could get to it so I will assume that Shelby handled that. Now, sign up for a Rally IV and check in here on the Forum when time permits. Here, you will find assembled in one place the finest group of auto enthusiasts that exists.

Probably unlike any other automobile you have owned, your Ford GT will outlive you and will be enjoyed and cherished for many decades after you and I are long gone. You are the proud but temporary custodian of an automotive work of art. Congratulations.

Chip

Congratulations, Effer-man! And welcome to this slightly twisted club of rabid owners of what must be one of the wildest and loveliest vehicles ever produced. And more kudos to Shelby - all we ever hear is good stuff about him. A little unasked for advice - be careful with your right foot when turning the wheel, and beware of cold tires. Also keep in mind that there is an incredible depth of knowledge available on this site, which is absolutely priceless to any owner. For that reason (and many others), please consider supporting the site at whatever level seems best. You'll be glad you did.

Welcome to the finest automobile ownership group on the planet! :thumbsup
Your SoCal brethren look forward to meeting you soon, perhaps at an upcoming Cars & Coffee in Irvine or a one day getaway drive.

Actually Chip, I didn't do it. Change the ownership part. Dave has not let us in on this little secret yet.

Now EFFER-MAN, it is my official duty to welcome you to the greatest forum on earth, and hope you will consider sponsoring it. The small cost of membership is completely outweighed by the support, and info you will get from the members, and vendors! But you already knew that didn't you. :cheers
