Now, speaking from some experience with 750 miles on my Shelby GT I can tell you this is a GREAT car to use as a daily driver. Handles great, accelerates hard, and sounds wonderful. Everybody that sees it loves it. The aluminum block 4.6L V-8 is a lot lighter than the iron block 5.4 in the GT500 and that combined with the Ford Racing springs/shocks/sway bars/strut tower brace make it the best handleing Mustang I have ever driven and I've driven a bunch of 'em. It's 1 1/2 inches lower than a stock Mustang GT so you gotta watch the curbs and parking blocks but that's the only negative I have so far. At $39,000 this is a kick ass car and the Shelby CSM# on the dash makes you feel good every time you see it. For many the superior power and acceleration of the GT500 make it the car for them. For me the superior handeling and balance of the Shelby GT make it a better driver for me. That said, near the end of production I intend to add a GT500 to my fleet as well.:biggrin
Chip, Glad to hear that your enjoying your new Shelby GT. You have the best color. I have one at Las Vegas being built and should have it in two weeks as it is the only one I got allocated. My Ford rep. was in yesterday and told me Shelby is offering a Red -white stripe configuration with the white-silver and the black-silver colors but I still like the white-silver the best. Everyone say's they "handle much better than the Shelby500 because of the front end weight". Great cars seem to find GREAR owners. Enjoy it bunches.:thumbsup :banana Tomy Hamon PS. You got a great price as they are still very high around Houston--10 over MSRP.
Sounds like an awesome daily driver. Congrats Chip! Appreciate the feedback. Now I just need to find one at a good price...I think I like the white/silver, even though the black looks downright mean.
@@@@@@@@ Are these "billet" as in actual turned pieces or are they fashioned after the 67' car ? The "i" and "u" are right next to each other. I'm betting "u"
