Aluminum has always carried a hefty premium.

A lot can be said for Fiberglas. Less expensive, less likely to dent and if necessary, easier to repair.

I know I’m a little late to the conversation, but I read through it and totally agree with what other owners have stated. My car is pretty much a twin to Clint’s. I bought it for the true Cobra ownership experience and boy does it deliver! I also have been on a few Cobra rally’s in TX where it’s stayed at home. It is hot, and with a 4 speed, is screaming once above 65 mph. I love driving it around town and on 30-50 mile runs, but if I’m driving for longer periods I would choose something with an overdrive. I’ve been in several other makes of Cobras and they are definitely more comfortable for long cruises, but I still stand by my decision to go with a CSX. Mine is no exception with the tinkering as well. It has a few drips, bolts rattle loose, and brakes can stick, but it is very simple and fun to work on.
