Shadowman and SafeCaft

The clock is ticking at a rate that seems to increase as we get closer to the Rally; I for one am very excited about it and yet at the same time want to do all that I can to make certain that it is a event akin to that which dreams are made of with no nightmares intertwined from which one needs to be awoken from.

I say this as the means to set the stages for the following;

The team at Safe Craft; one of the many wonderful Forum sponsors chatted with me and then contacted DBK with regards to the safety equipment required for event participation that was talked about a couple weeks ago. No Safe Craft is not late to the proverbial party but rather respectfully did not want to cause any redirects when the previous thread was alive and kicking.

Safe Craft with this project spearheaded by Don has offered to loan a few of the handheld fire bottle systems for the Rally so as to insure that no one is left behind however IMO there is some safety equipment that is better owned rather than borrowed if at all possible with fire suppression systems and harnesses being a couple of them as such Safe Craft is offering the following;

The hand held fire extinguishers as either;

The passenger side center console mount system $280
The passenger side seat/floor mount system $360

Then to further protect your gal the integrated engine bay systems as follows;

The stainless steel hard line system as designed by Shadowman $795.00
The stainless steel flex hose system as marketed by CoolTech $795.00

(The bottles are available in White, Red, or Wrinkle Black)

In addition to the fire suppression systems Safe Craft and Wally work together as such are offering the harnesses as well;

The 6 Point harnesses are available as follows;

3” shoulder and lap $538.00 per seat
2” upper (for Hans device users) and 3” elsewhere $538.00 per seat

(These systems come complete with all associated hardware including the billet aluminum shoulder bar)

If you and your gal are already protected then I thank you for taking the time to read this thread however if not please consider Safe Craft a sponsor of this Forum when selecting/purchasing these items.

See you in Texas.

Might I ask, how much a harness system might be without the belts? If available.

Thank you, Andy

Any pictures of the harness system installed Shadowman?

I recently completed the installation of my harness and extinguisher.

It is a very simple and straight forward application. Take your time adjusting the harness for a good fit. Better now, than wasting time at the track.

JBG, great minds think alike. I just had the holes put in my seatcovers too.

Will do, thank you as always.

Seems like an easy solution for protecting the seats. I had the upholstery shop attach ultra-suede through the opening and finishing it off with velcro on the back.

Here are some pix of what Shadowman references above.

And after you're done, just neatly tuck away behind the seat and one hardly knows it's there.

Finally something to fill the rear pockets....

Thanks Shadowman & JBG. JBG's is a variation on the theme with him placing the belts in the pockets and mine are placed behind the pockets as I utilize the pockets everytime I drive the car for my wallet, keys and other stuff.

More too follow

Here is what Don Warren aka Safe Craft has asked me to share with all

"The Texas Rally is less than one month away and I wanted to remind everyone that Fire Extinguishishing is REQUIRED for tracking the Texas mile . Safecraft, a Ford GT Forum Sponser has offered their console or floor mount 2.5 lb billet Halon system to satisfy this requirement; please review pictures within this thread"

Cody, at American Racing, in Austin, TX, is a local contact that can install these systems, but personal arrangements for scheduling, must be made separately. We suggest you plan in advance for installing your firex.

To date, only a few have ordered, indicating that come October 17 there will be a CRUNCH with a hundred+ cars going onto the track.

At this date, we need any Firex orders immediately so as to insure that all needs are met in time.

Sincerely,

Don Warren

Where did you get your seat covers , they look great

seat covers

I wish those seat covers would come in clear plastic. My mom would love it!

The seat mounted fire extinguisher mounts are from http://www.livermoreperformance.com I believe the Safecraft mounts are on the tunnel.

Do a search for safety harnesses & you'll see lots of photos (if they are still up). I have the Safecraft ones & love them.

Rob

I purchased them through Ford http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=7355 Although the page says they are no longer available, I'd check with Torrie :thumbsup I've had them for the past 3 years and they've saved my seats a few times :ack
