What are the requirements for a rookie stripe? I was thinking about throwing one on my car just for fun. Both sides? Color? 1 or 2 stripes? Angle?

Yellow on back bumper. First year in a series, or when new to a series.

Search for pictures from the 1960's through 1970's era Cobras, Ford GT40, and other sports cars. You'll find double stripes on the front left fender on most cars. Some yellow, some white, some red. Many photos are black and white, but you'll see lots of examples.

Not a racing or Corvette expert by any means, but I had a 96 Corvette Grand Sport LT-4 with the red "hash" marks on the left front fender. Unsure of the significance (racing) but I think all 96 GS Corvettes had them.

As stated it is simply a stripe or double stripes(on the front fender, I thought) to indicate to officials and other drivers that there is a rookie driver in the car. That is how it has been explained to me.

I have been googling a little but I didn't find an obvious pattern. There may be no pattern but if white stripes belong on blue cars then I would like to get that part right. Any old race guru's that can tell me where to find rules on this subject?

Cool find, that keeps me from having to get them cut locally.
