Update for the Trip:
-- from Michigan we will meet at 7:30 am at the Rest plaza on I-275 just south of Exit 5. Large parking lot for cars and trucks , rest rooms etc. Please gas up before arriving.
--take I-275 south and blend onto I-75, to I-280 near Toledo and then onto the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) east toward Cleveland. (bring your E-ZPass if you have one- -toll road)
--Stop on Ohio Turnpike Service Plaza (for gas, food ,Pantera Bread , rest rooms ) at Mile marker 100. Create some interest ! they have about 10 gas pumps
--Exit Ohio turnpike at NORWALK / Sandusky exit 118. Go south on route 250 about 9 miles to the Track.
--We will enter the 'car show' entrance and John Torvinen from Roush will be leading us in his Mustang.
--Our cars will have special parking on the Car Show grid.
--The balance of the day is walking , watching the races , talking cars with the aroma of rubber and high octane fuel. (bring earplugs)
--planned departure time can be at you own discretion. I plan to leave approx. 5-6 pm to drive back to Michigan.
I will try to set up some common areas at the track for us but I am still working on details and will publish soon.
Coming from the West on I-80 or east on I-80 or south from Sandusky (Tim) the exit is still 118 Norwalk / Sandusky on the Turnpike.
So far we have (4-5) 2017-18 FGT's, (2) 2005-06 FGT's, one Ferrari , (2)GT350 Mustangs.
Forum member David (68Rcodeman) from FLA will be racing his vintage Cobrajet '68 Mustang ...so we can cheer for him.
If you need accommodations, Cedar Point is at the same exit ,but north on Route 250. Many hotels etc and the BIG Amusement park !
Remember , this is for fun, to drive our cars and enjoy the day. It is INFORMAL , but I will try to have some 'organization' to the day.
