Alright, there you have it. The car is owned by a father and son. In discussing with them, I found them repeatedly and conveniently come up with excuses for not able to get me the information I requested such as the receipts for the mods, confirm for me the HP output, or lost my contact information so they couldn't get back to me or just couldn't give a clear explanation....... At the end, I'd concluded that they are either not being candid on things or they might just be some of the most disorganized individuals in our nation. Also, I started communicating with the seller while the car was listed on EBAY without reservation. When the listing expired, it had only 1 bid and the car listed as SOLD in EBAY. Then, a couple of days later, they called me back and said the car is still available. However, when I asked them what happen'd, they could not even speak in complete sentences in attempting to explain it to me. Then, the son said the father was out of town and suddenly didn't like the bid price so he put in a large bid at the end to out bid everyone. Then, I asked, but the "winning bidder" had previously transacted with you guys, so does it mean your father does this kind of thing all the time...? To which, the son had not answer.
They only did a pulley swap so it wouldn't get close to 700rwhp, and they just couldn't show anything to me to back it up. Plus, 5200 miles is just a little higher than I would prefer. Btw, they wanted to sell at $196k, if I stuck with them, I could have gotten at $192k, but with the mileage and lack of apparant-candidness, I walked away. In fact, they called me again this Sunday; therefore, if you can look past their inability to explain and have the car thoroughly checked, you might be able to get it for less than $192k.
My take away from this is that a seller has better be candid, organized and be responsive because once a potential buyer looses confidence in dealing with the seller, the deal is gone. At the end, I pay more but I have a 1k mile car all checked out and no stories....
