Hi all

Have just agreed to buy a black with silver stripe 05 GT from Shelby at Elite. As we are based in the UK, it is always scary dealing with someone for the first time, so would appreciate some feedback from anyone who has used Elite for GTs.

Thanks
Charles

Shelby is first rate. Use the search button... You will never find anyone better than Shelby, however Bernie at BJ Motors is equally as good.

I purchased my black/stripe-delete car from Shelby and the vehicle was as advertised and very much to my liking. You should feel confident in your dealings with Shelby/Elite but you always can contract with a private appraiser, even someone qualified from this Forum, for a "second opinion" on your potential purchase. These cars are not inexpensive, even though you, on your side of the pond, are buying at 1/2 price!
Any further questions or concernes, feel free to PM me.

A PPI (prepurchase inspection) is always an e0cellent idea.

I can only recommend three folks for this:-
The GT Guys
Shadowman
The GT tech

That being said, I would buy a unit from BJ Motors or Shelby based on their reports and flawless reputations.

Shelby will stand behind anything and he knows more about the GT then any dealer. I had a great experience working with him.

I run the site and bought a GT from Shelby. It was a smooth deal and the car was as represented.

I bought my car from Shelby and have recommended him to others looking for a GT. He also did all the current modifications on my car. He and his team know more about GTs than anyone...He is always accessible too, his cell must be taped to his head...

I would (and likely will) buy future GTs or exotics from him.

I sold my GT to Shelby and then bought it back a week later (really missed it), both transactions were flawless. You have nothing to worry about.

I have bought two cars from Shelby Smith. Both cars were exactly as he described (actually they were slightly BETTER than he said they were). He went out of his way to make sure all of my requests were taken care of, and made sure I was happy with both cars. I would not hesitate to buy additional cars from Elite Autos.

Although I haven't bought a car from Shelby, I have spoken with him on the phone several times about one of his cars I'm considering.

He is genuinely very helpful and informative, which is refreshing after speaking to most other dealers. He values his reputation - which I find to be one of the most important qualities in a dealer.

Funny! :lol

There are many members on here that have purchased cars from me. many of them I have referred to this site when I first talked to them as the site really helps the experience of owning a GT. I can honestly say, I have NEVER had one customer that was not happy with the GT I sold them. If they were, I would take it back and refund 100% of the purchase price. That is the guarantee i give to all my customers. Unfortunate for you guys across the pond, that makes things a little more difficult, but you guys are every bit as important to me as these guys are over here. The internet makes the world a SMALL place. All it takes is ONE unhappy customer. As already seen on this forum, you are just keystrokes away. If you are UNHAPPY, you are probably gonna voice your opinion on here. This just goes to show you that no matter where you are, your satisfaction is my #1 goal. I have worked very hard for this reputation and would not risk one car damaging that in anyway.

Thanks to all of you guys for the kind words and endorsements (not sure if thats how you spell it :confused ). I enjoyed dealing with all these customers as much as they said about me. They were all as good if not better on their end of the transaction as I was. We are all friends now and hopefully you will be as happy as they are/were.

One last note, once you have gotten your car, etc, please consider sponsoring the forum. This site is run by DBK and membership is free. It has helped alot of people in purchasing, owning, selling, etc of their GT. Its the best money you will ever spend in your GT ownership!

Purrlleeeese,

tell us where you got that story and the location of the establishment performing this miracle.:bs:bs:bs

Elite autos average off the cuff price on a low miles all options 06 car is around $170k or £85k.

Working simple rule of thumbs here, without mentioning relative earnings and costs of living, that £85k car sells here for £140k, or $280k, after transportation costs, import duty and taxes with no official warranty and definately no Ford dealer back-up.

Did'nt put me off though..............................

P.S. for Shelby....

Charles at 51st State is a reputable and highly respected dealer here with a reputation equal to yours, you both compliment each other.

Happy deals!!!!!

Hi Viper,

I was a little taken back at the half price car statement, I/we wish :frown

The Mustang is mine, my Daughter drives it mainly, its a Roush Stage 3 with a few mods from Roush, currently running @ 470 hp, excellent track car with superb handling and a gutsy motor.

The photograph was taken last weekend at Duxford Air Museum, Sports and Classic car day, good turn out by a lot of clubs and a nice day.... another one for you..

I got my GT in March this year, advertised as one of the last "new" cars to be available, weather has been rather poor as you know but managed 2k+ miles without any problems or regrets.

I have seen the Super Snake but not driven, hope it lives up to its name & you are pleased with it, we should have a FGT GB track weekend sometime.

:cheers:thumbsup:thumbsup

It is funny how little (not sure i can really use that term when referring to a 200k car) we pay in the US for vehicles. Taxes, etc in Europe and Asia are crazy...

My friend in Norway just paid $160k USD for a 1 year old ML230 (mercedes SUV)...that sucks! That engine is so small they don't even sell it here in the US.

I'm into many cars but of late I seem to have picked up a bit too many US cars.

This is my Mustang which has 420 horses and my Viper which I've had from new but has to go to make way for the GT. Also the 427 Sting Ray also going. A General Lee rep and a 68 Charger R/T just before it went in for Resto.

So you can see I have it bad.
