Matteuson,
Does the car hesitates at the lower RPMs ?
Does it stall coming to a rest ?
Neither, no.

The original mufflers have external welds that are prone to cracking. The stuffing also rots. Borla redesigned the muffler after a lot of failures. The 2nd gen mufflers have no external welds and different packing.
I think you have made a good purchase at a more than reasonable price. As long as the car checks out, jump on it and don't look back.
Yeah, his license plate says "700HP GT"..well thats what he claims. Whether it is or isnt, I am ok with it as long as its a sound driver. By failures of the muffler what do you mean? I am sure its first generation becuase he had the work done in 2006.
700 is hard to believe. You said the seller was a friend.
The original Borla muffler had a lot of failures for those who actually drive their cars. Borla officially warrantees for original owners only. This is a $2k part plus installation. The 2nd gen Borla is trouble free.
You can find out from any Ford dealer if the recall has been done. If not, Accufab has the bolts as well or it can be done free at the dealer.Anyone have an idea on where to get the half shaft bolts replaced?
Actually, I am the 3rd owner of my car and the Ford Racing muffler cracked along the upper left hand edge. Borla replaced it free (including shipping), even though I had no receipt and was not the original purchaser. I posted a message about it a few days ago. List price is now $2750, I believe.
Thank you!Suggest you use my PPI List, see link below. Not a substitute for PPI by FGT Tech but a good start. Looks like a good car at a fair price based on todays market values. Too much money to spend with out a good PPI in my opinion.

As far as the price, you're doing very well at 230 for an 1800 mile original car. If it's clean and never hit, that's an excellent price for that car today.

FYI, some of those KB HCD kits ended up getting some pretty high 6XX numbers. I called SteveA just to be sure, and his car made over 680 rwhp with the HCD kit. Not 700, but pretty close.
