Could base at the Omni in Denver if it was track centric or somewhere in Aspen if it was sight seeing and awesome driving centric. We ran into the national Corvette meet in Breckenridge earlier this summer. Hundreds of Vettes running around the high country was pretty awesome. Having a boat load of GTs up there would be nothing short of spectacular!

Tough crowd eh. I'm hoping to attend the rally next year if it's anywhere in the west. I do think folks would really enjoy Colorado as a destination. We have unmatched scenery as well as a great race track at High Plains. If I could help do some of the leg work to set it up it would be my pleasure.

Pretty tough for track time though. We do have Bandimere for drag racing, but no road tracks that even come close to VIR. The Pueblo track might be the best available but I don't know if it is really compatible with this class of vehicle. Any other suggestions? Anything say in Albuquerque?

There's a rumor that Rally VI's location has already been set in stone.

Nürburgring?

Have you seen or been to the new High Plains Raceway? May not have a fully built out garage complex but track itself is first rate!

But I'm going to do my best to be at the next one where ever it is!

Maybe not stone, but salt :lol

Does that mean we have to buy a alcohol membership?

Not anymore. They changed that law last year.

I know we have switched from Aspens to Salt, but wanted to say great photos. I spent most of last week in Colorado visiting my Dad in Loveland. There was beautiful weather and spectacular scenery! Friday I hiked at 12,000 plus feet, well above the tree line and it was really great. Thursday had a great tour of the New Belgium Brewery(Fat Tire), very fun. However did miss the events at VIR. I hope to make Utah next year!

Which mountain did you climb? Did you go up over Trail Ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park?

Here's the plan. We have it in Colorado and track days is we convince the State and Feds to keep all traffic off Hwy 34 (Big Thompson) for two hours a day. There will be no standing mile competition but the twists and turns ought to be a hoot :)

It's my favorite drive and I occasionally do get "no traffic". Mike, you've got to love the narrows. The Cobra sound is awesome.

Re High Plains. Might be good, but is it a Ford GT track? I have to admit I've never been there but it doesn't seem the caliber of track that FGTs get utilized to the max. It is, however, "rentable", so might work.

What was the one out east that they were doing - it was to be a development like an air park except with race track. The design was to be based on Nürburgring so would have been up to the challenge.

You mean Ring of the Rockies. Would be a lot of fun but one wonders if and when they will actually begin to build. That and do we have a GT owner with enough clout to attract the Rally in our own backyard?

We did.

The hike down from the summit to Beaver Lake was not too bad a hike, very scenic.

The road along the Big Thompson river was not so exciting in my Dad's Hybrid, pretty drive though:thumbsup.
