A little welcome gift...

Really dig the label of course. I think the Red GT is by far the best color . . . to put on a bottle. (That's about it.)

I guess that the bottles of Sauvignon Blanc picture a white GT, best color to own, or on a bottle!!!!

Just had my car and Andy's picked up by Passport.I must say of all the transport companies we have used they are clearly the most professional .Not only that the equipment was all 1st rate .One thing I always look at is scrapes on the trailer, missing side markers and the condition of the tie downs. All perfect!
The Viper graphics looked pretty cool too! As long as my Gt doesn't get transformed in to a Viper I'm all set!
Nice job DBK!

AlohaMan - you surprised me with your favorite.

I always thought your favorite was wine that someone else paid for.:thumbsup

Got me, Jeff! You are right! My favorite is red wine that someone else paid for.

So bummed I can't make this. I coach two football teams with 52 kids and I live 3 hours from Napa. I may have sneak over for a day and just check it out on the 2nd.

If anyone is debating how to get from sfo to Sonoma, sfo was very cheap to rent a car for the week. $200 all in for a "full size". Just booked it last night.

Frying into Sacramento and the same $197 for the week. Hope to leave it at the Fairmont for the post rally.

Hertz SFO is really cheap. I put in for the cheapest car possible last time I went out to pre-run and it was around the same. $200ish for a week. The day I got there they had a Merc SUV they couldn't get anyone to take so I went from a stripped nissan with cloth seats and a tape deck to a loaded Merc with Nav, Sirius, etc for a couple hundred extra bucks. Worth it for the 2000+ miles I put on it.

I had temporary delusions of grandeur about renting one of the 911s they stock, but $2700 plus a per mile charge = no thanks.

That sounds like a good deal! The biggest problem with San Francisco right now is they are jacking up hotel prices for the Louis Vuitton Cup/Americas Cup. Plus next weekend they are closing the Bay Bridge so traffic congestion on the GG bridge will go up!

Yipes!

Please expound on the Bay Bridge closing details. I was thinking about going that way on my northbound Monday to avoid SF and the GG.

Not a Smartphone guy, so is there another way to get traffic updates out there?

Thanks.

The bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. Aug. 28 until 5 a.m. Sept. 3 so workers can take the old east span out of service and ready the new part of the bridge.

I would stay away from 880 between Oakland and Hayward. If you want to avoid SF try going north on 680 and taking the Benica bridge.

What the new part is still of questionably build quality. With bad bolts and rubber parts that have degraded before a single car has drove over them. :ack

WOW, what great place for the Rally!! Wishing my dad and I could be there. Missing one rally is bad enough....but two in a row...is just about to kill this gear
head :(.

I hear you brother. Missed N.O. in '12.

24 months between Rally's is killing me.

Headed south today, with a couple of stops along the way.

Then Sonoma on Monday afternoon.

Gentlemen,

My yellow GT is somewhere between the Blue Moose's garage where it was picked up by Passport Transport yesterday and the Rally hotel. About midday on September 3, I will be landing at the Sonoma Sky Park which is only 5.9 miles south of the hotel. The runway there is only 2400 feet long. I'm not sure that even qualifies as a runway, it's more of a dragstrip. I am really looking forward to this Rally, and the company of so many good friends. See you in a few days.

I took a look at that strip a few months back Chip, the surface is good and the approach is very open with no hills or trees.

Looking over the itinerary. Not sure I see any event that requires up scale dress attire. Don't want to pack and miss something. Cotton slacks, shorts, blue jeans okay? Any word from a past Rally Vet would be greatly appreciated.

We don't really do "formal." That said, people usually dress a shade nicer on Friday night.
