On Sunday I attended the Inaugural " Festival of Speed " Event at the Hallandale Beach Location. Theses South Florida Car events pull in some really nice cars. I was invited by two different Friends, Bob Zinzell who is head of the Shelby American South East region and Bill Hoffman who is working on growing a new club " Exotic Car Society " .
I was happy to be parked next to some fine Automobiles from both groups. Directly on my right was a Ferrari F12 TDF and a LaFerrari. next to me on the Shebly American Side was a beautiful Blue Pantera . Shelby American had a nice array of Corbras, Daytona Coupes and Mustangs new GT 350's and more. Lot's of Fun stuff all over the show, From Muscle cars to Rock Stars there was lots of automotive art to behold..

I spent the day chatting with friends from various groups , having lunch and just enjoying the atmosphere. As it turns out they were judging cars for various categories.. I didn't even register myself. Bob Zinzell had made up data sheets for all that attended in his group. I did see some judges near my car at one point a said to them I wish I would have known it was a judged show I may have actually cleaned my car.. .. it was really dirty on the sides..

At the end of the day the was walking back to the GT and a gentlemen was circling my car in a golf cart . As I walked up he said is this your car? I said yes. He said jump in the cart and come with me.. I'm thinking oh boy what did I do ?? .. did someone hear me bad mouthing the Ferrari's ?? :biggrin

Then he said ' well you won one of the categories " .. " I said really. ( very surprised trust me). which one ? cause my car gets driven a lot and it's really a little ratty for a show.. and the was some serious hardware on the Grounds.. " then he said " what would you want to win " ? I said well to be honest and did know they were judging cars. I have no idea what or how many categories there since I didn't see the registration sheet... so I said like what ?? .. like best Ford or domestic car or something...

As we rolled up the Presentation stand they said and here is the Car owner we have chosen for " the overall " Best of Show" .. I was in total shock . !! .. They presented me with a beautiful Waterford Crystal trophy. A great day in the life of a car guy and another reminder of what a great and beloved car Ford built for us in the 05/06 GT :usa Thanks to Bob and Bill for inviting me !!

I'm happy to say Helenor's still got it after 10 year !! and I love her more now than ever!! :biggrin:thumbsup

Well congrats little brother. Quite a kudo. Did you at least hide all the wires in the cockpit and clean the pens out from under the seats? Why is it only ugly girls surround your car?

Well deserved buddy, congrats!!!

Wow, that is an impressive win! Congrats!

Congrats Brian. All owners of FGT feel like winners, but few get the trophies to back it up.

Congrats Brian,

Unexpected things always prove to be among the most recognizable.

Any chances for more pictures from the Pantera ? Somehow I can't withdraw my eyes when I see one which is not so often here in Europe.

Way to go Brian, great day

:cool:cool:cool

Very nice! Congratulations!

nice Brian, the orange & black Cobra Coupe sure looks different.

Fantastic! These old clunkers still have what it takes, I'm betting the NFGT will age well too

congrats Brian!

Well done Brian.
