My initial goal was not to surpass the peak numbers it generated in the past but completely change the area under the curve. So far it has dramatically superseded my expectations.

That being said plans for the next phase have been made and we are going to implement that and turn it up a bit more and see what happens.

After the turbos are making boost, could you open the blower bypass to reduce parasitic drag from the supercharger?

I thought through that process prior to getting engaged in this, where we are right now I don't see the immediate need to do that.

Have not heard from Torrie yet this morning which means he has probably gone thru a few tanks of gas and hasnt been to bed yet. LOLOL

Some of you know the story of how this unfolded so for those that dont here is the scoop!

After arriving at the SEMA show and visiting the Bassani/Hellion Booth I was intrigued by the Twin Turbo setup for the 03/04 Cobra in that it incorporated the factory Eaton as well.

First thought..... Damn, we need to to that to a GT!!!

I got ahold of Torrie and escorted him to the booth and just let him stare at in a moment... Result.... Same thought in his mind also!! He kept muttering something about his Supercharger still sitting on the kitchen counter.. LOL

So the idea began and we spent the next few days discussing it and hatching the plan to do it on his gal!!

Once we got back it, Torrie using his Fastpartsnetwork.com connections gathered the parts needed for the reinstall and brought his gal to HP Performance in Orange Park and my shop foreman Jason Combs aka "Longhair" and Sean Story, reinstalled the supercharger and rerouted hoses as needed.

With the Supercharger on and the Turbos pushing air to the atmosphere I adjusted the tune sans the MAF and drove it to Tracy Grimm at Speedfab for the fabrication of the inlet tube that joined the two air handlers together...

Tracy finished the Fabwork and drove it back to HP where I called Torrie and told him the TTSGT was awaiting its owner and the Dyno was open for busniess!!

I think he drove his SRT-8 Jeep mach 2 to get to the shop and by that time we had her strapped down. After a few short pulls Torrie had her ready for BOOST!!

Needless to say another dream realized and another mod for the GT bretheren to ponder!!!

LOL Just talked with Torrie.. He was up early and out driving all morning!! LOL

My post concerning bypassing the blower.

At full boost the blower is using probably 150hp to run it. Once the turbos come on, they make more than enough boost, so the supercharger is no longer needed.

If the parasitic loss from the blower could be removed at full turbo boost, another 150hp could be given to the tires, rather than the sc pulley.

Great project, just my thoughts, keep up the fantastic work!

Wouldn't that involve a clutch system cycling the the blower on / off. I don't see a real simple way to do that off hand.

We are already making more power with less pressure then the turbo's alone.

Volvo marine diesels are turboed and SC'ed, once they reach a certain RPM an A/C style clutch mounted on the SC disengages the SC and it runs on the turbo. This setup has NO LAG at all and makes the little 6 cylinder diesel feel like a monster.

The new VW twin charge engine and the Volvo Penta, feed the supercharged air into the turbos, when the turbo needs more air then the supercharger can deliver an electric or spring flap opens and draws air from a different pipe.
The supercharger is then disengaged with an electric clutch.

It's not practical on the GT to do it the way Volvo or VW does. On the GT the turbos have to flow into the sc.

On the GT, if the bypass valve and piping were much larger, then, as the turbos were spooling, open the valve and circulate the some of the boosted air to the inlet side. The goal would be to try the get the pressure in and out of the sc the same so that it is just freewheeling. Then it would still be spinning so that the boosted turbo air would flow through it, but the hp to spin it without the sc producing boost would be neglible. Just some of my goofy thoughts.

Great project, your nuts in a good way.

Trust me CC I have sat for days trying to theoretical run these same scenarios in my head over and over and over again. Certain things we still have yet to try out, but we will with time and I will let you know what the end result is.:thumbsup
