Thanks for the info Steve. I am a little familiar with the Ford's part system as I have been tinkering with my car a little. I have taken my front facia off now a few times as I have installed a C&R racing radiator and C&R H/E on my car. There are indeed a myriad of fasteners and I stripped a few...trying to get new ones can be frustrating.

C&R racing radiators? somebody makes a racing radiator for the gt?

I think CH53 is referring to his Shelby GT 500.

That is correct, the radiator/heat exchanger was made by C&R for the GT500. If enough people wanted one for the GT and someone was willing to lend a car for development purposes I might know the right person who could get one made up for the GT.:wink

Sorry I wasn't clear about that in my other post.

Daniel,

The main company is located in Indianapolis and they also have a branch in Mooresville, NC. They make the radiators for NASCAR. A person I know down in FL has been working with them on products for the GT500. A few of us were the first ones to get the radiators/heat exchangers for the GT500. Now they are being sold on a couple of sites. If there was enough interest in the GT community for a C&R radiator, I'm sure I could put the right person in touch with the right person. I'll see if I can post some pictures of what I got from C&R. Of course, I don't want to infringe on any of the forum sponsors.

MATT,
No issues in posting, we have members in those areas. The real issue is the benefit achieved. FYI, the FGT's tend to run hot and can overheat if to much time is spent in second gear. Some of us have removed the grills in our 2005's and opened up the frontal area like the 2006 left the factory with. I am interested to learn more data.
Thank you!
Cheers,
daniel

totally agree about the hijack and it is my fault I apologize, lets start another thread about the after market heat exchangers Im very interested, I have noticed that not only do the cars over heat when pushed hard the supercharger heat exchanger gets overwhelmed relatively easy and the car suffers significant power drop as a result due to increasing air inlet temps, when adding power to our gals taking the heat away is most essential,,surely an area where there is some room for improvement

Your picture seems to show a stand under the right front suspension, but some of the threads say NOT to put anything under the suspension control arms?

it is not under the suspension as it is under the frame where there are some
holes that mark where to put the stand - i used a piece of delrin (nylon) material i made on lathe here in my shop that has a boss on it that gos up into the hole to help secure the delrin pad in place - ill try to take a photo to send you but they dont turn out so good under the car

there is someone on here making these pads available for sale however i cant remember who and there are a good bit of posts on the site about putting the car on jacks so try doing a search and im sure you will find mor info

Honestly I got a little burned out as I worked on the car seven days a week there for a couple months and so I walked away from working on it the last
60 days or so but its quite a coincidence you asked as I started working on
it again last night. I still hope to have it on the raod by end of summer.I appreciate you checking on me !
