,

This device can also switch on in picoseconds!

My wife's attitude towards me has been known to switch in picoseconds....

Hi Jay, thank you very much for thinking this through and working up this potential solution. I too would like to purchase one if you are inclined to produce them. Regards, Gary

Probably getting too many orders, but if you decide to do a run, count me in.

Thanks,
Rick

I have had no problems with the original gauges....and I really want to keep it that way! Please count me in. You said the cost was under $100. Sounds like a bargain compared to gauge replacement.

I have less than $24.00 shipping included for parts to make two of them. Simple enough to make. If you can install it you should be able to make it. Instructions and where you can buy the parts are in earlier posts. I sourced my parts from Digikey and Amazon.

Ok, I ordered parts for 5. Will build them up and see how many turn out presentable. Then if anyone in Houston wants one....

Jay,

Looks pretty easy to build as you illustrated and Planecrazy said. Unless you need me to make a run worth while, I can build it.

Thanks,
Rick

Analog, Is the 1N6275A: 1500 Watt MOSORB® Transient Voltage Suppressor, 15 V Unidir diode an equivalent replacement for the 5KP13A - 5KP Series TVS? I was able to find the add-a-circuit fuse adapter kit in the local O'Reilly's, but the diode has been difficult to find locally.

Thanks, looks like the 1N6275A is the same TVS diode.

Knock on wood my gauges have worked and still work great. I always keep her on the battery Maintainer. Don't know if that has helped or not.

Parts list for this project

Gentlemen:

Here is the parts list for this project:

To those that wish to build there own, make sure that you get the polarity of the diode correct! I will post more info later this week on the correct fuse location.

If you prefer to purchase something that is ready-to-install, I will be building 25 units that will sell for $35 each plus shipping. If everyone is still interested, I will order the parts ASAP. Also, each unit will be pulse tested!

Thanks all, Jay
