I have one order and it was supposed to be here april 11 and quite honestly have no idea the status of the car. Porsche has been absolutely horrible from a client perspective. Very bad with transparency and what will happen to cars in production etc... People are really pissed including myself. The dealers are not in the loop on how long etc.. Neither is Porsche NA. Its an absolute shi7 show!!!!

So if they swap the engine is the car no longer "numbers matching"? Over time that has to affect value, especially in a rare Porsche like this. I'd want a new car.

Its a good point. Porsche has done a terrible job with client service. Its a joke. No one really knows the answer to any questions. Porsche has changed in the last few years as they have become more main stream. They care less about the customer and loyalists. Very apparent.

My understanding is that the gt3 buyer is ranked number one internally at porsche for customer loyalty and brand loyalty and they have shi7 all of them. All mechanical things have issues; they have a pass on that. The handling of it has been terrible!!!

(Electrical things too) Why is this concept so difficult to understand?

I guess it's a vicious circle..... things go wrong then people overreact and/or the mfr takes the low road.

In all fairness to Porsche, giving customers a new engine, rather than rebuilding the existing one, seems like good customer service. It will be interesting to see if Porsche provides the engines with matching VINs.

Updated info, root cause = loose fastener. I assume that equates to incorrect installation torque on cod rod nut:

My guess is that the replacement engines will have matching numbers and the old engines will be "destroyed." What a shame, probably most of those engines could be easily repaired.

Yep. I'm sure they will all get turned into mush and the new ones will have the original VIN. I'd take a bad one for $1000. Stick it in a Focus!
