Note: This event has reached the cap of 35 GT's. If a space opens up I'll post availability here.
Gentlemen,
Peter Volny has finally received confirmation that 20th Century Fox will be hosting a Western U.S. Premiere showing of the Ford vs. Ferrari movie for invited Ford GT and Ferrari owners at the Cine Capri Theater complex in north Scottsdale on November 11, 4 days before the nationwide opening. Studio photographers and plenty of media will be there to record this gathering. I've been asked to coordinate Ford GT participation and I love to throw GT parties so I've planned 1.5 days of high performance good times.
On Sunday November 10 at 4PM I'll be hosting a Ford GT party at my home here in Scottsdale. Great food catered by Honey Bears BBQ, an open bar, and entertainment along with plenty of secure parking for GT's. On Monday November 11 we will gather at 9am (9:30 departure) for a beautiful scenic 70 minute drive to Payson, AZ with lunch at Fargo's Steakhouse. At 3pm on November 11 we will gather along with about 30 Ferrari owners at the Otto Car Club who will be staging our 50+ Ford GT/Ferrari convoy to the theater. Departure from Otto at approx. 4pm. A police escort should ease things along and a special route will be planned. Arrival at the theater at 5pm where special secure parking with security will be provided. Complimentary access to the movie of course! After the show members can enjoy the fantastic selection of restaurants in the area.
Originally the studio hoped to have Christian Bale and Matt Damon there but they are both working on new movies and are not available but it will still be a great time.
For out of town GT owners I'll make hotel arrangements in the next couple days.
If you plan on joining us please post up here and let me know which GT you are bringing. For this event all 3 generations will be welcome. Rob Walton MAY bring out the holy grail, 1965 Ford GT #1075, we'll find out soon. It's going to be a groovy time so don't miss it. Be there or be square.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION......20th Century Fox is doing this premier to gather 35 Ferrari's and 35 Ford GT's in the parking lot of the Cine Capri theater for promotional photos and news media coverage. I was informed yesterday that this theater holds 140 people. 70 for 35 Ferrari drivers with one passenger each and 70 for 35 GT drivers with one passenger each. There are no tickets available for anybody not arriving in a Ferrari or a Ford GT. I protested but understand what they are trying to accomplish. The whole reason they are doing this is to get Ford GT's and Ferrari's outside the theater so filling the seats with owners not bringing a GT or Ferrari would defeat the purpose. I have been contacted by many owners who want to fly in and attend without their GT's. You are welcome to come to my party and on the Monday morning road rally BUT....unless you can find a GT owner with an empty passenger seat I can't get you into the movie. My apologies but I don't control that.
