We didn't own in 2006 either but we still consider ourselves very lucky 2nd owners. Have enjoyed the ride ever since and would absolutely do it all again!

I was lucky enough to purchase my Tungsten a few months before my 30th in 2013. The former owner had a goodbye party with all of his local GT buddies. My smile was ear to ear that day as I had the pleasure to drive two hours back from Tucson. The cake below came shortly after. :willy

I bought my first GT with a 155 miles in May of 2012. I also joined the Ford GT Forum in the same month and year. I purchased the car in Tennessee and had it delivered to a paint protection shop in Austin. I didn't want to drive it until I had the paint protected. That's me on the right smiling ear to ear.

After 6 months of back and forth on the phone, we struck a deal (an awesome deal looking back on it now) and I finally drove truck and trailer from WV to VA to pick up my Heritage #1304. My daughter in the photo is now 11. My wife and I took the GT for a drive through scenic WV one fall day and I snapped a few photos. Yes, I couldn't wipe the smile from my face for weeks after picking it up. The HD F350 I used to tow the GT and my old supercharged Mercury Marauder are in the one shot...time does fly! Patiently awaiting the NFGT as a stablemate!

We picked ours up at night October 2005, dont have any pix, but I do know, that one of our kids was in a hand held car carrier, and the older one was in his car seat in the passenger seat, as I drove off the lot.... A funny part of the experience, the selling dealers invoicing software could not do 6 digits, the "1" (the 1st number of the selling price) was hand written.

I picked mine up in November of 2012. Drove it three hours home. It was the first time I ever drove it. I was super nervous because the roads I had to take were known for car/deer collisions. Ten minutes from home a guy in a mustang wanted to race me, I laughed and shook my head no as he sped away. When I got home, my wife and family came out and greeted the new arrival like I was bringing a baby home. Love that car!

I'm with ya STORMCAT. Probably typical of most dads who are the designated picture takers. I have no pictures of me and the GT at time of delivery. Lots of pictures of family and friends beside it, but no one offered to take a picture of me with my new car. The closest I have is this 2008 picture at the Gainesville track.

I don't have a picture of me with it but I drove it to show my parents the day I got it and they were more excited than I was! This was a joyous occasion for the entire family.

Gentlemen,

All of our GT's are 11 to 12 years old now and we are 11+ years older too. I thought it would be interesting to see what we looked like on the day we bought our cars over a decade ago. Here I am in early 2006 on the back lot of West Oaks Ford in Houston, Texas standing next to #34 for the first time. I was so happy then and I still am every time I look at my GT. Back then my hair was still brown, I was fatter, and Charley was still a little boy. Fine memorys.

So don't be shy, post a photo of yourself with your GT the day (or close to) you bought it. All the best.

December 2005 at the local Ford dealership in Fort Worth. Also a pic with my father and his '31 rumble seat Model A.

July 2012. We flew from DC to Chicago to pick up my 3,000 mile GT. Then we took three days to drive 1,000 miles home, including a drive through Ohio's Hocking Hills, a favorite test location for the Ann Arbor based magazines.

Attended Rally 7 in New Orleans shortly after. Rally 12 will be six in a row. Rolled over 29,000 miles last weekend.
