  • 2009 Dodge Challenger Hemi - Stunning, you can just see this thing cruising the strip, or on the strip. Has a definite feel to it.
  • 2009 Chevy Cammaro - A pretty close second to the Challenger. Compelling in Hugger Orange.
  • 2009 ZR-1 Corvette - Outstanding styling and more distintive than I thought. Beautiful in graphite (blue does this car no justice). The CC rotors look massive/ominous.
  • 2009 Nissan GTR - Looks very impressive in person. I still have issues with the (infated) numbers but a little controversy is fun. Probably the best Japan has served up in some time.
  • 2008 Lotus Elise Exige - With its aggressive stance, this car appears eager for a tight road course.
  • 2008 Mini Cooper JCW - Loved it! I may just trade in my 163 hp S for this 215 hp pocket rocket.
  • Ford - Conspicuously absent was the Shelby Mustang .... and the most spectacular car to ever grace the world's automotive stage ..... the Ford GT. I don't get it?

'No makum no mo ... 'yesterday's news in the "new car" arena. Dat's why.

That's also why it will never (almost) be put in the category of super cars tests.. because they test the current year and compare.... 2006 was well..... 2 years ago..... so when you read those articles in Car and Driver, Road and Track etc... and they talk about the current super car performances.... 0-60.... handling and track times..... you may say, "what about my GT? I know its faster then that!!"

Ocassionally ther is an * stating something about the GT and its 2005/06 production.. :frown

Ha, Philly must not rate. Even St. Louis had a 500 and a KR.

ACR Joe - was the 2008 JCW a limited edition like the former two seater? That limited edition was a really neat model.

(From the internet, Car and Driver, online mag)
In the last generation of the Mini, the John Cooper Works package underwent a slow evolution. It began as a dealer-installed kit that included a revised head, a new supercharger with a smaller drive pulley, and a free-flowing exhaust system. The sum of the parts was a 37-hp bump to an even 200. Eventually, the kits became so popular that they were installed on the assembly line. For its last hurrah, JCW created the Grand Prix kit, a limited-edition model that deleted the back seat in favor of a strut-tower brace and boosted the horsepower to 215.

Sure was and from everything I've heard it's an outstanding performer! My fiancee says the "S" is quite adequate and the car doesn't need any more power. For me the line between need and want has always been blurred.

There's no such thing as "too much power". Just ask Tim Allen!:lol

No Vipers at the show ?

No Vipers at the show ?
Nope! Weird ehh? The show is huge but clearly 2nd rate.

Even Houston Auto show had a 2009 Ford F-150 Pickup, Black KR Mustang
and a Shelby-500 . There are not many KR's traveling the car show circuit. Tomy

Hey Joe, what did you think of the Audi R8 and the Maserati Grand Turismo? Both are beautiful cars IMO, and if I had to pick a new car, the R8 would be in my garage today!!!:cheers

Philly show

I'm sure the cars were cool but how were the women models?

Although not my style, indeed both are beautiful. The R8 is reported to be relatively underpowered and the body panels behind the doors, even if they're the same color as the car, stand out as an after thought. Oh yea the models part ..... very easy on the eyes!
