Would you have rather bought a car full of rock chips only because it still has factory paint? In my opinion, if it's a good respray to correct cosmetic damage from use (i.e. rock chips) it shouldn't diminish value. At that point, it's how it presents and the quality of the respray. There are many custom paint jobs out there that put factory paint to shame. Does it diminish the value if you order a car in a non-Ford color? To some, maybe, to others no. Many of the early cars have resprayed trunk lids from factory bubbling.
