:agree: with Mitty's assessment.

As Clarkson would say "what utter rubbish."

I was fortunate enough to have friend that let me drive his CGT. Nothing at all scary about the driving the CGT as long as you treat it with the respect that you should with all high performance cars, especially those that are not yours. The scariest thing was using the clutch from a dead stop.

I think conservative estimates say something like 70 of these are off the road, and they keep severely injuring and killing people. My favorite car ever, in the whole world, but man are they dangerous. A close friend of mine has one here and I refuse to let him take me for a ride — even the pros at the driving school in Birmingham were really cautious with it.

If you're ever offered a ride, definitely think twice about it... and if you ever get the chance to drive, for God's sake be careful!P

Thanks Mitty,

Of course we mean no disrespect to the departed, just looking for the facts from someone who knows the car and can articulate it's behavior.

"Understanding takes the scary out of the unknown and puts caution in its place".

Really enjoyed the comp. thread mate. I was eyeing up the CGT and still am, however went for the FGT in the end (lower entry price and running costs).

What a fantastic comparison!
I am in agreement with your conclusions, but don't find the CGT any scarier to drive than the FGT. Both are easy to drive at reasonable speeds and both require skill, experience, smoothness and sensitivity to drive near their limits.

You don't throw the keys of either one of these to your buddy who has never driven one and say "Go out and have fun"...

Well said and I heartily agree.

Thanks for the other kind words guys.
