What Sinovac said, you need to run it to keep the seals lubricated, otherwise they dry out and fail. My car's previous owner let it sit a while and my a/c compressor seal failed with less than 2k on the clock. The powersteering also has a tiny leak which doesnt need to be fixed, but you can see a drop of oil on it. Congrats on your purchase!

Does anyone know if the Daytime Running Lamps can be programmed on or off through the buss at a Ford dealer? I simply added a relay to enable DRL's on my white one, but don't want to touch the electrical on this one if I can avoid it. I want to keep everything all 100% original.

No problem for the Ford dealer. In the lighting control module they can toggle them on or off.

Great looking ride - Congrats :thumbsup

Congratulations

I'm growing fond of the yellow cars. When I first showed the GT to the boss as the upgrade to the Cobra she said the yellow would be OK. The Tungsten was both of our choices and the Heritage was a stretch but we won.

There is a lot about long term storage on the internet, and I think here too. Some say to way overfill oil (to keep moisture from building up) and fill the gas tank (same reason). I much prefer the strategy of running the engine and putting a few miles on it to keep the other fluids running like trans and other hydraulics moving.

Whatever you decide you've got a beauty there. Take car of her.

A climate controlled environment is a very important factor when trying to preserve a collector car. Temperature and humidity change is the enemy. Other than that I would run the car on occasion to keep the seals lubricated and of course change the fluids annually. You should be fine. Congrats!

Man, it would be so hard for me not to drive any car I owned. My dad just took delivery of the red/white 200 mile GT from Shelby as well. She has a 4l Whipple and we took her out! I say drive the it! Who are you saving it for? You can be gone in an instant! But, you do another GT so drive that one. Enjoy your new toy, and Merry Christmas.

Whether I drive white or yellow today, it makes no difference and the white one has the power upgrades anyway. This one's a piece of fine art and a long/indefinite term hold for me. Should I break the seal today, I surely won't realize it's full financial windfall, and I can always decide to open it at any time. I'm good with her sitting in the stable on the lift and just looking at her every day or so. If she was a Lambo or some other HP car...she'd be driven, but she's basically only a duplicate of the white one. Merry Christmas to you too - and everyone else as well!

I really love the yellow cars. I know everyone raves about the heritage but if I bought another GT it would be yellow. Congratulations on the new ride.
