Driving around today in my LR3 I was thinking of this thread. It really is a solid vehicle. I remember the techs at the local tire store saying, that thing is a freaking tank.

You can tell from closing the doors, it's one strong build.

Land Rovers are great vehicles.

I have the Sport and love it.

Just found this thread. As Team Jeff said earlier, I love our '07 Range Rover Sport (bought new when Ford owned Range Rover, Bony!). We took it along as a chase vehicle on the Phoenix-Vegas trip to Rally III, and even packed to the rafters with luggage the performance was, well..., let's just say that a lot of the Forum members couldn't believe that it's bone stock and non-supercharged! 30K+ miles with no issues other than the minor stuff Jeff already mentioned. Very solid, and very stable and predictable under any highway or off-road conditions. I guess I need to make this one last forever, or be banned from the Forum for buying another one from Tata!

While Jeff and I were looking for his LR3 (he did buy one last week - from the original owner who bought it when it was a "Ford" :biggrin), we came to the conclusion that Land Rover/Range Rover owners are probably a lot more anal about their vehicles than the average SUV owner, which would account for a lot of the "complaints" from owners. We suspect that owners of other SUVs simply don't bother to take their vehicles back to the dealers or complain on surveys to the extent LR/RR owners do. Now that Jeff has his LR3, we're going to have to compare it to the Sport off-road! :cheers

PS. Jeff, you HAVE to post your story about how many illegals you can get into the back of a Sport (not mine, thank goodness!). :lol:lol:lol

So, when I was under construction, two of the subs kept looking at the LR3 rear end and were laughing. I knew they were looking at the "I'd rather be driving my FORD GT" bumper sticker.

So, I said, what's up? And they said, "That Land Rover is my dream car, why in the world would you rather be driving a Ford Mustang, that is just wrong."

So, I explained what a Ford GT was...

Today, again at the Storage Site, some younger women said that my car (LR3) was their absolute favorite car.

It's funny, it's a basic white SUV, but the design is fairly clean, it kind of grows on you. I admit I didn't like it when it first came out, particularly the asymetrical rear end glass, but now I really like it.

At my construction site one of my sub-contractors has a bumper sticker that says: "I'd rather be riding my BMW". Today his boyfriend showed up.:ack
