Skyrex,

What did you run? You were well over 200 right?

Chip

Actually I was very happy with how the car ran. We still had the 210 limit for that event (it has since been raised to 225 for GT's) and my best was a 208.8mph. All my runs were within 2-3 mph of one another so at least I was consistent. :lol

Considering it was 100+degrees with a 5,500 density altitude I thought the car performed great........on all 23 passes. :biggrin With normal temps that we should have at the regular event in April and being able to run without restriction I think there might be a 220 out there in the morning runs. If the GT only day happens with the longer track who knows what could be run.

Apollo had to sneak over the limit with a 210.4mph at Mojave last month. :lol Obviously the high GT run for the weekend.

Of course the next weekend on my way to Vegas when I went past Mojave it was 82 degrees. Just bad luck of the weather draw with record temps all over Cali event weekend.

Mullet, in watching those videos it look/sounds like you get out of the gas before you cross the 1 mile marker. It could be youtube video/audio mismatch but if it's accurate then I'll bet you could have swung a number closer to the one you were looking for.

Me?

I wont make that much. I'm hoping for 1250 with my 67mm street turbos and 1350-1400 with bigger 76mm turbos for the mile. I think we're around 9.5:1 compression since I drive it so much. I honestly don't know how close it is to being done. Been handling some personal things the last couple of months.

Hi all,
We had a great time. Sorry to not be in touch, we had no cell reception even though most did. One of those things I guess. I wish you all could have been to this one, it was really fun and a lot of wild things happened as you have been reading. I was worried after the first day about being able to run because I tried to really get after it on the start and my stock clutch was not happy. I was fortunate to not have roasted mine to the extent that Matt did, really a bummer... in any case, the clutch recovered well enough to keep inching up the speed. I got past 210, my first goal and turned her over to Monica. She wanted to break 200 in Texas as her first goal and then maybe 205. Her first run was 201.3 and then went back to hit 204.1. Saturday I worked up to mid teens but it was too busy, too windy and we decided to watch the show.
Unfortunately, I was too tentative on the early Sunday morning run that seemed to be the best shot for the weekend on a cool - little wind run. I made a 219.1 run. Aloha GT had put in a specacular 220+ run and it was so cool! Mullet ripped a 224+ and I was inspired. I decided I was probably going to have to replace my clutch anyway so I would give it another shot. I couldn't launch hard because of my clutch but really concentrated on good shifts, I made a slight hesitation between 4th and 5th and felt the boost drop... 219.4. This just made me so pissed even though I was really very happy. One little mistake on my part cost me that 220! One more try I thought. I went out again with a pretty strong cross wind and just focused on clean shifts with as hard of acceleration I felt she would handle. I watched the tach and the rpms were a bit higher but I really thought it was clutch slip. I came up to the timer and he was shaking his head, crap I thought. Then he handed me the slip[ and 221.5 WAHOOO!!!! The clutch held together and now Monica's turn to break 205... She gets all suited up and gets to the line and she had her own audience and people asking to take pictures with her etc... Any way she does a casual start and pics it up down the line to 207.4, the crowd at the starting line goes wild. I'm thinking this is not fair... (I was really very proud). Then she comes right back down saying how fun this is and lines back up. 209.8!
This was really a special fun event because of all the great GT guys there at this event - many that came without cars just to root others on! We had such a great time. A really special thanks to Kendall and Ryan that stayed over just to will me past 220, I know they missed their plane just to watch my last run. Aloha GT, Miles, Cliff, you guys are the best!

the audio is mismatching. Trust me I got it pegged until after the line.

after reading Apollo's paragraph above it puts a great smile on my face that a couple can jump into one car and run big numbers together......that's something special right there.

Terry you and Monica are the greatest. We hope to see you back in March. I already have mine on the lift and we are going to start tearing her apart in the next couple of weeks to have it back together and ready to run in March and get my 200mph.

Mullet thanks for blocking the spaces and tell your little girl that she broke my diet with those cupcakes :)

I guess we should make a bet as to what Kumar must do if he doesn't beat Mullet and Soroush in March?????? Lets see what could we make the bet?

Congrats to everyone that carried the FGT flag at the Texas Mile...

were there any "lesser powered" GTs running down there this weekend? The TTs and Whippled cars seem to get all the glory and attention cause of the big numbers...

How did some of the other "stockers" fair on the Mile?

I was so heartbroken for you Matt. Thanks for the great trailer time. We were going to come over Saturday but some of the Texas mile folk came by and started talking about the Lambo crash and we ended up pit racing for the rest of the evening. We look forward to toasting your 200+ run at the next one! :cheers

There was a red GT that was technically stock - (pulley and really tuned) - that was in the 190s. I think it was car 40 Lee Novikoff?

Team Fubar crushed thier Mark

Team Fubar had 1 purpose this past weekend and that was to hit that magical number (for us) of 200 mph. With a true team effort that included an all out NIGHT run to burn off pumped fuel on Saturday night, we crushed our mark on Sunday morning with a run of 205.3. It was the best day i have in a long time and seeing the smile on my brothers face was truly "priceless". Although he could tell you exactly how much that smile costs!
