I would love to drive this some day. Meanwhile I'll have to live vicariously via Sabine's taxi videos on YouTube.

Hope there is good streaming, has been a little hit or miss. Also if anybody figures out how Bloomburg does their broadcast schedules let us know. I found the last race telecast tape delayed but in its entirety a few hours after the race.

Camilo and I will both be there. I met DataDale on Woodward and he said he was going as well. Will be my first time at The Ring.

GO MATECH!

Be very careful there - the ring has a very addictive nature, and calls one to return. You will surely get the virus, as everyone does, and it takes great willpower to stay away. Good luck.

By the way, have a great time, and say hello to Martin, Steven and Thomas Mutsch, and all of the Matech mechanics.

Go Matech

That was excellent! Mutsch mowed down the field to go from 22nd to 6th for the start of tomorrow's race. Prost and Jani went from 12th to 8th. The Maserati leading the driver's championship fell back to 10th, so Thomas has a chance to get back into the lead. Great effort all around by both cars and the team, and hopefully tomorrow will go as well as today.

Crazy weather, crazy first turn. It was carnage right off the bat, and then the weather was changing every ten minutes. I imagine tomorrow will be more of the same. Tune in at GT1world.com!

Well that was total B.S. Mutsch starts the race, moves up and then just gets bashed out of the way while Zonta dicks around with his brake controller. The car makes it's way back up the field to the points and they get held up by the Maserati No.2 undoubtedly trying to keep them away from the points, until they get a drive through penalty for pushing. If someone has to push you, get the hell out of the way! Worthless!

Oh well. Next race the Matech No. 5 will be 40 kg lighter than the No.1 Maserati in the chase for the driver's championship.

It actually looked to me that the Maserati hit his brakes after the apex, indicating that Westbrook didn't hit him, but that his braking caused the incident. Guess the officials didn't see that, and called for a drive-through penalty. Give my condolences to Thomas - he didn't deserve the push in the early going.

That's the Nordschleife, not the Grand Prix Streke circuit which was used for the GT1 race.

Both are shown below with the bottom of the Nordschleife showing the position of the Streke.

The nickname for the Nordschleife is the "Green Hell." I put 2 laps on it this last summer - it is so addictive!
