NSX Owners?

Didn't Ford benchmark the NSXs transmission for the Ford GT? I like the story if Gordon Murray's experience with the NSX as the benchmark of a "useable" supercar when creating the F1.

I recall that as well. They even got the 1-2 cold shift feel/noise down the same!!!

Yeah, I was told by a wise Ford GT historian (Frankie) that the gearbox feel on the FGT was patterned after the NSX.
Sold a 70 RA III Trans Am 2 weeks ago. Cleared up some space. I've known about this NSX for a couple of years.
I'm feeding my "mid-engine" fever by acquiring this car. New and old FGT, CGT, GT4, Miura, and now an early '90's Ferrari killer

Not the transmission but the cable-operated shift linkage. The NSX was the best in the business and the engineers certainly got it right with the GT. (Not very many similarities between the transaxles.)

As a FGT and NSX owner...where is your Pantera? Love your mid-engine collection...especially Miura!
