Not stating an opinion one way or the other....but from the traffic, should we assume political discussions are OK again???

Inquiring minds want to know.

Do You Really Need To Ask That Question???????...[/B

There are many sites that welcome that chatter....
We will let you know if the policy changes.

Do we really need to uncork that Genie? As is surely the case with many others, I have enough pent-up frustration to incite a riot ..... and frankly I'd prefer to keep car buddies just that.

Plus it is never really a discussion, is it?

I agree with Joe, let's leave it at the cars...

+1

It does matter who's in power as it's always the governments fault! :wink

Great to chat on Sunday. I'll post some pictures later of the great event Matteo and I went to at the weekend. That'll keep our minds off political rubbish for a bit!

Political THREADS are over.

Gentlemen,

The directive from our El Presidente was that political threads are over. This appears to have immediately morphed into.....any comment or humor that has a political overtone, is banished as well. I believe this is going too far. Using this same standard Jay Leno could not deliver his monologue on a nightly basis, Saturday Night Live would have to be taken off the air, and Will Rogers would not be welcome on the GT Forum. Our forums fearless leader Daniel posted a set of truisms a few days ago containing the wit and wisdom of notable Americans from Ronald Reagan to Will Rogers. Everyone of them was most enjoyable to read and they all contained a political comment. Our election is over and I take no issue with doing away with political threads. But striking comments or humor about the insanity, political or otherwise, within which we and this hobby exist, diminishes the freewheeling exchange that I have always enjoyed during my visits to this forum. I also miss the partial nudity and tits that used to pop up regularly here as well!!

Plain and simple, humor in good taste is welcome. Political threads are over.

Chip, old pal, you will recall I deleted a remark you made about 'kenya'.... it was in bad taste.
We are in difficult times, you want to share your feelings with your pals, do it with emails, PM's but not on threads.

Again, we are fighting two wars, we have men and women that are perishing and many returning home with grave wounds that may never heal. Time to be respectful. Our president elect will soon become the Comander in Chief..

Reread the policy. You will be advised if it changes. I should close this thread, but if you feel the need to carp... carry on....

If you want any of my old avatars, your welcome to them. When Sam introduced me to his young son as the man with the special avatar I was embarassed and canned them that same day. Click on Old Glory and you will still see where my heart and soul is...

I am off for a bagel and MAKERS MARK MANHATTAN and it is not even 7:15AM.

LOVE AND KISSES AND
GOD BLESS AMERICA,
bony fife

Look, this is a car forum. I take no joy in having people sending me flaming pissed emails telling me what a ****ing asshole I am for letting people piss all over their political views. That's happened twice recently, both times with the people saying they were taking their GT and going home from the site for good.

People know where Bony and I stand. Our views are clear. This is not a personal thing.

The world is getting heated. This will remain a place to cool off.

It doesn't take living in our Nations Capitol, nor being involved with the business of our Nation for many many years as I still enjoy, to recognize a political discussion. Politics is not limited to a Right/Left quandry.

After reading with much interest the current 'Dire Automakers' thread (great insight, passion and sharing of details that helped round out my personal understanding of the issues - thank you gentlemen :thumbsup), and then the 'Truisms' thread :thumbsup, I just naturally assumed politics was OK again.

I guess I am like Chip and don't know where to tip toe.

Beer, Booty & Babes Kayvan it is!!

Herb, politics is the new religion. Sensitive stuff hard felt.

Nancy Peloci has a nice rack though.

I get what you're saying Herb. Talking politics in general isn't a problem, but the problem was we had a TON of really overt "I hate Politican X and he is gay and I heard he kills babies blah blah blah" threads going. Like several per day. They're gone because we just deleted them. It was just getting out of control and people were getting pissed and it was a waste of time for all involved so I felt like we should articulate that starting such threads was out. Chances are you wouldn't tell your neighbor to **** off and die because of who he votes for (especially if he owned a GT) so hopefully we can keep it that way on the forum.
