I think red without the stripes can be turned really bad ass and tough looking with the right touches and I have a historical ancestor in mind for reference.

A lovely thing, Dave. Congratulations. I used to think the GT was all about the stripes. But lately I've begun to appreciate no-stipers. We have some members with black no-stripes and I've always liked those. Red no stripes look's pretty awesome! Keep us posted on your plans.

I don't think you probably ever saw this, but three years ago I did another no stripe project car. It was a thing of beauty, and it was a freak. Seemed really fast on pump gas.

Ugh was this car good looking. Centerbolt HREs, menacing TT setup, and that blue paint!

A true beauty. Bet that was a hard one not to keep. The paint looks miles deep. And the power plant. Nice job on that one for sure. A spectacular car.

Yes - Lincoln Electric used a Red no stripe car in an advertising poster. I have one framed in my Garage near the FGT.

I saw a solid red for the first time at VIR. I could not get over how good it looked.

I took a picture of this one, back in 2007, at the SAAC 32/SVTOA Combined Convention. At the time, I was stunned at how different it looked from the striped ones like mine! I thought at the time, in red, it looked more like a Ferrari than a Ford GT

A "no stripe" GT is really a cool car, but to me it's kind of like one of the Kirkham "Bare Naked Ladies" polished aluminum Cobras. They are awesome in their own right. But my memories are locked on cars with LeMans stripes. They just have to be there.

I kick myself for not buying Peaks solid red GT when I had the chance. It had few tasteful mods, lowered, wheels, with just "FORD GT" on the side. It was so simple, yet so sexy. Now it is totally different monster.

I look forward to what you do with this one.
