^^
You need to hit a bigger track.
I hit 150mph in my 397RWHP Boss on the first session at Road America.

yep.... lol... Road America straight is twice as long as the tracks here...

I've run at Firebird main a bunch of times and can routinely hit 155 + on that long straight

Main is gone now :( The NHRA didnt like road racers ruining their traction (Their 1/4 mile track was part of that straight) So there's just Firebird east and west track, both 1 mile tracks lol. PIR wont let nasa etc run there anymore now due to Nascar bitching about it. That happened before I started hitting the track. The private track INDE in Willcox has the longest straight I know of in AZ at 2200'. Nobody has passed me on that straight and I'm lucky to hit 130 there with 522 rwhp.

If I was in town I would have come. Are you coming out to C&C Nov 7?

I just looked that up sounds like fun but I have a Nasa track event that day.

I just looked at the forecast it's going to be pretty hot out there, 105*. Any pointers on keeping the intake charge cool?

No, but if you start to overheat and go into limp mode, pull over, open clamshell and let car idle with AC on. This turns the fans on earlier. Watch temp gauge till it gets back into normal range.

Ice on SC before run, and shut car off when staging (vs idling), and loose the AC. My fastest run in Texas, was just after lunch, where the engine was the coolest. Of course have some heat in the engine, but not water temp showing 200+.

Ice on SC before run,.

How did you do this? Just lay a bag of ice on top of it? Something like that? Thanks!

Yes it will delay heat soak.

Yeah me too, the GTM's will be interesting for sure, especially if they are really at the power levels stated (1000 and 700!). 3 more days!!!!!!

The event was a blast. My best run was 170mph. It was hot and I didn't bring ice. I think next time I'll definitely bring ice and cool the supercharger down in between runs and get closer to 180. There was a newer Porsche there running 206mph running 77 pounds of boost. lol. He was trying hard to break the record there of 208mph by a TT Gallardo. There was a Huracan there running high 150's if I remember correctly. There was also a newer Audi full size sedan running high 150's. Oh and there was a Tesla there, but I never was able to catch his speeds... The only time I got beat was a TT 911 that said 650rhwp on the back, must been more lol. They announced there that they are doing the next one in December, so let's get a few GT's down there this time! You can see pics of the GT here- http://arizonaautoscene.com/2015/10/04/no-fly-zone-arizona-brings-the-horsepower-back-to-the-bend/

You'll never hit 180 without a monster tailwind unless you add power. 10mph is huge

Well it was my first event, so I know I was probably holding the car back a bit myself and car was super hot as it was over 100* out there. I might try water/meth injection too. Anyone else doing that? What's the half mile record anyway with just a Whipple?

I've done 171.'s several times. 3.4I. I make about the same power as you, & I was definitely not holding back. I've done maybe 15 - 20 official 1/2 mile runs and never done better than 171 Plus regardless

They were no shows :(
Maybe they came out on Sunday but I doubt it. Seems like a lot of cars that were on the list never showed.
