A friend sent me this. I guess space is tight for transporting in some places...

It would be interesting to compare the Nissan GTR, the ZR1 Corvette, and the Audi R8.

All very nice cars.

All very nice cars.

The Detroit Show selected the ZR1 as Best in Show with some very stiff competition including the Audi R8 V12 Concept. The ZR1 will likely define the final run of high horsepower, gas guzzling American Muscle Cars. :cheers

How did it look?

Fat. And the front end looks like every other sporty Japanese car now.

It is definitely not a visually attractive car. Probably looks better in black then most of the other colors, since the incongruities are hidden.

Of course, the GT in black, brings out all the beautiful qualities and complementary design elements.

Heehee.

I couldn't agree with you more Randy. For me the visuals of the car does nothing. The advertised performance of the car, i.e. claiming to turn any average driver into a race car driver is intriguing. If the car's performance proves as phenomenal as hyped, then who cares what it looks like on the track. Just my $0.02. :cheers

If you don't care how it looks, just go get a new Subaru STI, put in $8K in mods and be done with it. Go on the track and have fun. I think that car is hideous...

But for GT-R money, it should look decent or have presence. I really like reading about the GT-R and all the promises and expectations. I think it's wonderful when a company, any company, pulls out and the stops and builds a world class performance car.

But I just didn't feel the presence or charisma of the car. I was definitely excited to see it, but not overwhelmed.

Dealer quoting $25,000 above list for GT-R

At $70,000 the GT-R is a great value at least from a price/performance standpoint. But at $25,000 over which is what my local dealer wants, the value equation deteriorates rapidly.

Although I have nothing against Japanese cars, they haven't made a decent looking one since the 240Z.

when I couldn't afford a GT 40 and the 240 Z came out, the Porche 914 and the Lotus Europa were its competitors (by price). The 240 was pretty, but I bought a Europa and still know it was prettier. Put about 95,000 miles on that car. :biggrin And yeah, that new thing ain't pretty a-tall. Just goes to show how much the GT is the best of both worlds, form & function

I'm sorry, but th' darn car is STILL just plain uuuuugly. I still can't get past that. I don't care if it'll do 0-60 in two seconds and 275mph top end. If one can't get past the "ugly" the rest duzzunt really matter much, now 'do' it? One would have to LOOK at it every day - and be SEEN DRIVIN' IT! :eek

No.

'Tank' yew very much. But, NO...
