I could only wish this would make Ford do it.

Still fun to dream.

Maybe Mulally is a car guy down deep? It would absolutely have to make good $ this time around due to our economic climate.

I really dont want to rain on anyones parade , but for the life of me I have no idea why anyone would want FORD to build another supercar that ressembles the FORD GT

The FORD GT was built as a 1 off car and they broke the mould after it came out , Have we not all learned what happens to car values when a new model comes out , I personnaly dont want someone looking at my GT as saying "oh that car , its the old version" , in my mind it is the only new version that should ever exist

If FORD is going to build another supercar it should not ressemble the GT in anyway

Just my $.02 orth

I agree with radgt and gtforme, but if they did build the Pardo version, I would be in line for one, no question! Probably pay for it before it was built!

Check out this web site

Starting to look a little like the Shelby GR-1

http://loadinform.com/new-gen-2012-ford-gt/

This is Rodovan's version. I think the Pardo design is more true to the Ford GT silouette and 3D shape of the original, our 05-06 version, and a futuristic change. Radovan's looks like the GR-1

Maybe someone we know who has close contacts with Ford Production that could chime in on this one at some point. Would be nice to hear that Ford will ocme back with a 3rd generation FGT???

The R&T article makes a logical argument for how the design & configuration of their next supercar will most likely develop. So I think the look of our cars is safe from being re-gen'd again. Plus, the "Lincoln GT" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I like Camillo, however, I don't like the new FGT rendering. Looks too much like a Lambo. Its lost something from the GT40/FGT dna. Doesn't have that "it".

I think they should leave the FGT alone and do the GR1.

MHO.

Love the GR-1, but that will be perceived as a refined and exotic muscle car.. I suspect Ford wants more competition for the European GT types. Ford has said nothing publically, so all this is speculation, but man, it has been 5 years since the shut down of the GT plant. Time to move into the next decade an produce what we all know Ford can produce, a superb advanced GT automobile.

I think DeTomaso might be working on that right now......on the other hand, that might just be mindless and wildly optimistic speculation..... :thumbsup

Lets not forget what they did to the 1974 mustang; even if there was a Shelby version

If I've said it before, I've said it a million times, there's nothing to this persistent rumor of Ford GT v2.0.

Maybe they are trying to manifest it by talking about it enough, but otherwise, it must be a slow news month at R&T when people are putting non-existent products on the cover.

I don't "think" the point of the article was to re-invent version 3 of the FGT but rather to say that another "halo" car "COULD" be in Ford's future. Using the FGT as an example sells magazines. Key word is "could". I "could" be a porn star "if" i had a ..........never mind. I personally do not "think" there will be another FGT. "If" they do, then maybe a GR1 which already has a start. "could", "think", "if".
