Pulley, Tune and X pipe...

Brian, since we both have essentially the same set-up, any sense as to how much more she had in her? Was it still pulling strong when you lifted?

Mine was stock when we hit 197mph. It was pulling strong and I lifted as some traffic was coming up ahead.

The acceleration in stock form is really impressive up to 180mph. 180-190 is still quite good... then you can see the needle inching down rather than surging down.

I suspect that with a pulley, tune and x-pipe you should shift my observations 10mph higher.

Did you tell everyone that you had many carbon fiber mod's or it wouldn't have allowed you to go that fast.

It was still pulling but 5th gear is pretty tall and I was approaching traffic at a rapid rate . This will be an ongoing challenge for recording my Top Speed !!

It does pull harder and quicker. With the rev limiter raised you call pull a higher speed in 4th gear but when you hit fifth the pull is not as strong because of the tall gears. It would be interesting to feel 5th gear with the Stillen 3.90 gear..

Congrats StormCat!!

That sucks with the speedo's reading high... we are showing more miles than what we are actually putting on when averaging high speeds :biggrin

I think the speedo error of 2 to 3 mph at 100mph is typical. I have stock wheels and tires.
I feel humbled after seeing your car's Numbers!!! Congratulations !! I keep a copy on the mag in the GT to dispel the nay sayers!! :thumbsup

Here is some top speed runs for you...

It takes some European balls (and German laws) to max out the GT on a public road.
The vids below was posted some time back by "one of 19" who took his bone stock GT way past 200MPH on the clock...

Enjoy :thumbsup

Storm, took a drive out 528 to Cape Canaveral yesterday and today. It looks like a lot of room with no traffic.......and straight for a test run. :eek

Hell...on base would be perfect!
