I was originally looking for a Haulmark Edge Pro but can't seem to find one in stock anywhere close to me - and they seem heavy. I have found a dealer with a Haulmark ALX 28' with cabinets etc. BUT it weighs 5100# and has 5K axles. Seems to me that an all aluminum trailer shouldn't comprise over half the capacity weight. He also has a Mission with everything that I am looking for, still has 5K axles but only weighs 3250# so I can haul car plus a toy. I'd never heard of Mission before but he tells me they're common in the race world. Can you tell where the weight savings comes from? I more comfortable now seeing what you're hauling, beautiful Corvette by the way (my 67 just got painted last week). How do you plan to trailer your GT? D-rings or will you install the etrack?

Is the Halumark, a FULL aluminum trailer? Their site says "our best aluminum skin trailer" which leads me to believe that its a standard steel framed trailer with an aluminum skin. I just looked at their site, as I was curious, as I didn't think Halumark made full aluminum trailers.

Intech out of Nappanee Indiana make all aluminum trailers with side doors. Makes it a lot easier getting in and out. My Intech trailer is an extra 6" high as I also tow a Lightning from time to time which needs the extra height. 24 foot length, cabinets, and winch; weighs 4500 lb.

Holy shit Steve that Corvette project is mind blowing. I love watching projects like that come together. Why don't you start another thread detailing that build and keep this one focused on your trailed. Well done.

I wasn't aware of an all-aluminum Haulmark until I found this dealer. It's the ALX model which says aluminum frame, no steel. Supposedly they got into the market 2-3 years ago and have over engineered the product to start out. 5100# just seems heavy for all aluminum because still 16" center spacing etc etc.

5100 seems heavy for steel.

For reference, 20+' Trailex/Blowex (thanks Steve for that!), is under 2000 lbs. More, of course when you add the weight of all the spares you need to carry.

I've towed my '05 with "D" rings for thousands of miles without an issue but if I'm fortunate enough to get a new GT I may install Etrack, will just have to see.

I have a cheap steel trailer (Wells Cargo) about 3500 pounds with winch and E track - almost 7K with my GT loaded, but I haul with a RAM Megacab diesel dually, so no trouble at all.

I think Blowex is a horrible misnomer. The obvious choice is Failex.

Steve, is that the stock '62 Sateen Silver? Looks great!

I had a silver over red '62 327 340 HP 'vette in the day. I still miss it.

No it's not. Sateen is a very flat silver and since the car isn't stock I went with a more modern Mercedes racing silver. I did last month finish the car however. A few of the completed interior.
