I just didnt want anyone showing up and not being able to run the speed they had planned on. When we got the email from the organizers it sounded like they were going to enforce it this time around. Better to clarify up front then get to make 1-2 runs and get shut down.

I hear ya but I will not install a cage in my GT.

I would bet we (GT's) get a pass on the cage.

From Road & Track a few years ago driven by Millen...standing mile for Ford GT stock about 171 mph.

I like Steve Millen's comment:
"This may not sound like the right thing to say," says Millen about the mid-engine Ford GT, "but this thing could easily handle a lot more power. And I mean that as a compliment."

How many runs?

John - I only planned on doing 1 run. Unless I flub a shift, etc I want to go over 200 (or as close as I can) & then sit in the pits to drink a beer. Are people planning on running all day?

I was thinking about doing the Texas mile the other way around. That is, sitting in the pits and drinking beer until I get my nerve up.

Just kidding.:cheers
