Was not driving the 2011 GT500 enough so traded it on this...

Found a 2005 DB9 Volante with 3500 miles on it. 450 HP, 12 cylinders, paddle shifters, so far, I love this car. Figured living in FL, convertible makes sense. Love the active exhaust, more you romp on it, the louder it gets. Local dealer says the maintenance is not a big deal, and I have a dealer 30 minutes from the house. That was a huge consideration. Any one have any experience with one of these? The biggest risk I see so far is that this is the only car I've ever bought that my wife loves, and she wants to drive it. Who knew?

Sorry for double post of pictures, tried to back out the duplicates but couldn't figure it out.

Nice car! The Aston's have one of the nicest designs I think. i used to have a Vantage V12 but traded it in for a Mclaren. The bad thing on Astons is the old fashioned technique but extreme reliable. Only drove it for a year without any worries wish I could say the same on the mclaren.

As we discussed last week, gorgeous car! Do I get to drive it if I come down to FL to see your GT?

Jason, thanks for the compliment, I love the styling on this car. I would think a drive would be in order if you come down to FL.

BelgianGT, not sure what you are referring to by "old fashioned technique"? The only thing about the car I don't like is the Nav screen that pops up from the dash is a bit small, but I never use Nav on a car any way. Always use my phone Google's Nav, and it works fantastic. Glad to hear they are reliable, that was what I found when researching before I bought. The DB9's take a huge hit in depreciation after a few years, so you end up with a lot of car for the money if you like the styling. Checked out DB7's as well, which are much less money for low mileage examples, but they did seem there could be issues mechanically over time. I love the style of the 7's as well, except for when the top is down on the 7, it is not nearly as clean looking. Stacks up in back instead of disappearing under a panel.

FYI, I think the Brembo front brakes on this car were the ones Ford sourced for our GT's. They look identical, and back then Ford owned Aston.

Nice! Love the look of most English design/style cars.

Here is a shot of the interior. Hopefully, I didn't upload it twice this time. All the pics were taken with cell phone camera, so not the greatest quality.

Beautiful car Rick. Does this mean you now prefer tea and crumpets over black coffee and sausage biscuits??

But you aren't going to buy one and even if you did, you wouldn't ever drive it.

Oeps... I didn't want to say the engine is oldfashioned. basically the engine is like two Ford mondeo engines but together. However it still is ford racing in germany who assembles them. Even though the engine may be an older principle it still is a very reliable car. Never ever had any problems with mine.
Just this morning a sales man from Aston called to lend me the new Vanquish for some testdriving whcih could be lots of fun. He also announced the vantage will come out with a 7 speed robotized gearbox. This is major improvement for this company who's really struggling amongst all those big names!
