I'm on the edge...just not sure yet. The only thing that bugs me about buying one is I know it'll be YEARS before it could appreciate in value. I may be better off just finding another GT.

Input?

I view it as unlikely it will appreciate until long, long in the future. Like, so far in the future you and I may be eating through a straw. That said, it's probably not going to get the massive depreciation prior models have. The new car is very different from the current car, and a Mustang of the current type is not coming back. That ought to give it some nostalgic value.

Looking forward to the next big change in the vehicle cycle plan (in the 2025MY), I expect the Mustang to be driverless and powered by a fuel cell. :bored

Not sure how that translates to 'return on investment', but it might help scare you into enjoying one of these beasts before they become extinct.

I have a 2011 right now that is pretty much my daily driver unless the weather is really really bad. I wouldn't mind seeing what that extra 100 horses did along with the suspension changes and driving electronics. I just keep thinking that for another $130k or so I could have another GT. Hehe.

There are always variants to keep it interesting. Holman Moody showed their 50th Anniversary GT500 in Dearborn. Seemed pretty much stock with suspension mods and unique paint job. They'll make a few hundred of them. Watson Racing is doing a twin turbo prototype. The headers point forward (now that is a weird sight!) to the turbos, with a huge intercooler behind the grill. My point is, pure stock will drop like a rock, so if that's what you want then be patient and shop, but there are several unusual low volume options that are more interesting if you want to capture a rarity.

I bought the '13 because it is SVT's 20 Anniversary car (it lights up every time you open the door), the Shelby name (won't be used anymore) and the 662 HP.
I'm keeping it because it's so much fun to drive (mine is convertible). Having all that power is intoxicating.
My other choice was the ZR-1, but I decided to get that one when the C7 model comes out.
To me, the best 6 speed, 600+HP cars to drive at a reasonably good entry price are: the GT (pulley+tune), '13/'14 Shelby GT500, 911 GT2RS and ZR-1. That's my dream Garage anyways....
