Stumbled across this. It seems most of the articles you see are about the newest most current supercar on the market. Nice to see a current article on tweaking the GT.:banana

Thoughtless, ill-informed and offensive regarding the design goal and capabilities of the stock car IMHO. But any PR is good PR.

I enjoyed the article. My favorite line was this, "Let’s get the obvious out of the way: the Whipplecharged conversion kit transforms a speed demon into an amphetamine-crazed dark lord, the maniacal master of metaphysical manipulation.":biggrin

I agree that the Whipple transforms the FGT to a much higher WOW level. But what is really amazing is the Peak's FGT has almost TWO times the RWHP as my Whipple FGT! That has to be a real hand full to get the power down to the ground in the first 2 or 3 gears.

Traction is much less of a problem when you can regulate boost by vehicle speed. That's how the yellow car is setup right now. And I can tell you from passenger seat experience it was a massive handful when it was set for full boost. What a ride !

Agreed. That was the editor changing around what my brother originally wrote. I had him correct a couple of factual errors, but overall, it still turned out OK. The quarter mile time was not representative of what the car can do, however.

The article served its main purpose...showing the general motoring public that a Whippled GT is a force to be reckoned with. And the comments by the readers are pretty positive overall.

I enjoyed the article also.

And you're right. Good feedback from the readers.

Usually, you expect to see the typical non-sensical "I'd buy a Corvette Z06 and bank the rest of the cash." Or, "I could dump $25K into my Civic Si and make it beat the GT."

I was just talking about the audio/visual equipment and seat reupholstering budget.

If you drop your car 3 inches by heating the spring coils, doesn't it go faster too???

:biggrin

Well Randy.. Actually lowering a car will increase the top speed of any car.. I'm not sure if I would use this method.... :biggrin

Ahhhhh the best just keeps getting better.....

I submit to you, that we own the "machine" which is and will forever be the Icon of what a ultimate machine with 4 wheels should be.

The GT is really a perfect balance of Form combined with function and it don't get any better than this.

From here on out all others are just cars.....though nice cars some maybe they are just cars.......

GT the "One"
