Hi folks,
my car arrived safely yesterday after a couple of month of painful waiting. This is an extraordinary car and an extraordinary forum (DBK :cheers ) and I already could learn a lot from your informative and sometimes very colourful threads over the last month :wink

Thanks to Biffom, I could manage to get already the glovebox holder and will replace the beloved subwoofer immediately! (Carl, John delivered the part within 4 days for a reasonable price ! Nice guy. ThanXs again for this contact). Have arranged already a meeting with our high speed "danger seeker" 1 of 19 during the Jim Clark memorial race at the Hockenheimring (F1 track course in Germany), where a small GT meeting is planned.

But now the worst part. Tomorrow I have to leave for a business trip for almost a week :ack - Usually I love to go to Asia, but now it is a P.I.T.A. So another loooooong week to go before I can finally push the starter :rofl

I love this car and I love this damned good looking colour!

My best wishes to you, your new hot rod, and my favorite city in the whole world. Please don't park it on the KuDam, it might get dinged! FJP

Desi,

COOL :cheers :cheers :cheers

Is that a US spec. car? Noticed it doesn't have the Euro front fender light.

...I thought the USA cars needed to be brought up to TUV specs? Please advise if you can, thanks.

Allan,

totally US! My import dealer in Munich only did some minor modifications with the electrical modifications with the turn signal - thats' all and car is now TÜV approved! Don't ask me how he did it (incl. EURO 4 and orig. exhaust) but I HAVE the German registration document!!! :willy

The car is like heaven on earth and drives like hell :wink

Bony,

sorry for the delayed answer but had to drive the car over the last days INTENSIVELY and no time to cruise in the forum :biggrin

In principle you are right. The cars have to follow the European/German standards which differ from US regulations. Fortunately my import dealer in Munich seemed to be very smart to get around it :thumbsup

The 101 cars for Europe have been "standardised" as the regulations requested (modified exhaust, turn signal etc), as these cars have been officially imported by Ford in a big bulk. So there was no option to "deal around" the standards and requirements!

For a single grey import like mine, using a smart guy I had in Munich with good contacts to the local TÜV it was much easier. He knows how to work on the on-board computer to adjust certain engine parameters softwarewise (e.g. to reduce the sound level of the car). So it was no problem to get it through the TÜV without modifications. Now I have the German registration document without any hardware changes on the car (of course afterwards he reprogrammed everything to the default settings)! So I have a pure US car certified. Sounds good :cheers

Desi,

Way to G.O.G. go! :cheers

It's such a shame when basically the identical car is turned into a "CAN"T IMPORT".

Glad you were able to land a GT. :banana :biggrin

Post a review.

Hi Piplani,
hope you survived your trip as I did! Enjoy your ride in your new car. It is the best car experience I ever had during the last days. My trip from Munich to Berlin was quite fast :thumbsup The cops pulled me out - no, not because I was too fast - they only wanted to make some pictures for their kids!

I would have been even faster if I wouldn't had to stop three times at a gas station on my way home :wink The first time I thought my gas tank would leak... :rofl
But this experience is also quite amazing, because after you paid your bill, you will see a funny crowd around your car (is this really a Ford? Yes, but no Granada :lol ).
Take care when you drive when wet or snowy in Switzerland. This picture I got two weeks ago from a crash in Austria due to bad weather conditions and maybe sporty driving - brand new car :rofl What a pitty and waste of material !!! This car is definitely a good weather car :biggrin

Wide tires and snow don't mix. Add lots of HP and it gets worse!
