Here's what I think is one of the coolest things we've come up with yet.

We've sold tons of our carbon fiber storage conversion kits. However; I got a lot of feedback from owners that didn't wish to modify their original center tunnel.

Here is your solution to have a real center console storage bin for your car, and keep it original.

031.jpg

This storage bin snaps into the center tunnel, in place of the original arm rest.
It uses the original spring clip attachments.
The arm rest uses the same rubber buffers and latch as our carbon fiber bin, but uses a different more compact self-positioning hinge.
The bin itself is formed of urethane plastic and is painted to match the center tunnel.
The arm rest lid is leather trimmed to match the GT interior.
The interior of the lid and the bin is covered in a black flocking, much like a BMW center console bin.
As far as volume, the majority of the bin is about 1.5" deep. The center of the bin extends into a pocketed feature of the tunnel and is about 4" deep. This is enough room for a garage door opener, radar detector, cell phone, mp3 player, sunglasses, etc. etc.

The armrest height itself is slightly taller that the original arm rest (approx. 0.5") to afford more useable storage.

So, If you want added storage, wish to keep your console stock, and don't desire the cache of carbon fiber, this is a pretty good solution.

Interested parties can PM me for details.

"Pretty good"??? You have a talent for understatement, sir! That glove box 'rocks'! :thumbsup:thumbsup

If the guys at Ford had had more time to build the GT, they'd likely have DONE a 'box just like that.

Any pictures?

Here are a few of Kip's integrated version; I like the carbon fiber trim that matches the seat back when it is opened and that it appears as if nothing is there when closed as well as the fact that the space within is consistent throughout. I have integrated many of these and once in place they appear as if OEM. These were taken while the gals were being tended to so there are likely distractions within the pictures.

Having shared this, the new option appears very nice and as shared for some this will be exactly what they want/need.

Takes care

Absolutely!

We've got a couple of GTX1s to get out in the next couple of weeks.
After that, we accellerate the Gurney Flap project.

Both are an improvement from stock, but IMO, if cost is no object the 1st version is better.

Have Shadowman put in the real deal, it has more storage space and is lower in profile.

Wow, thanks to everyone for the compliments!

We've had great response to this one.
Pretty much the initial production run is spoke for, so we'll kick off more immediately and can have more ready soon.

Thanks everyone!

Very nice! I sure wish I would have waited rather than modify the console to accopmodate the first design.
