Hey guys, today's post has the breakdown in 2005-2006 Ford GT production numbers by color and option, plus the raw numbers of each color produced each year. I'd seen this data before, and used it in the original long-term update from November of 2006, but when I went to find it for this post I only found small, hard-to-read images (one at the SAAC website). So I re-entered the data on a new Excel spreadsheet and created a new, larger (eye-friendly) version for today's post. I admit I'm a geek for this kind of production data, though it tells some interesting tales about color rarity (or lack thereof). For instance, Heritage cars aren't as rare as you'd think...
There are also some posts about the GT's handling, fuel efficiency (surprising good!) and easy-to-access service points.
I just added a new post about my drive in the GT from Los Angeles to Denver and back for my high school reunion. This was back in July of 2008 and the trip was as amazing as you would think. I'm going to post some photos from the post.
My latest post looks back at the moment when the world met the new Ford GT. It was at the Detroit Auto Show on January 12, 2015. I was actually sitting right next to one Dave Bannister when the car rolled into Cobo Arena. My post has photos and video (Ford played a very cool video montage of the car's development on a huge digital screen before it rolled out). It's a moment I'll never forget -- though having video helps. :biggrin
I just posted my photos from last August's Pebble Beach Concours. I think a larger collection of original GT40s showed up for this show than have ever been together before. I shot a bunch of photos that came out pretty well. You can blow them up to around 3000 pixels if you want.
