Are you certain it's not the amp next to the sub? I had a similar problem a few years ago and it was the amp

well no not really I just imagined it would be the sub, but I have the other one from my black car I guess I can swap them out to make sure.

soroush,

"Scratchy"? Is there something that physically got into the voicecoil gap of the woofer or is it the amplifier? I have some spare parts and I may be able to repair the amplifier if necessary.

Usually when a voice coil goes you can feel it when you push the cone carefully in and out when speaker is un powered. A swap from the other car, as suggested, would be a good diagnostic step.

If no one comes up with an OEM, I've had great luck buying drivers here:

yes, it doesn't pop but the sound is "scratchy" I really don't know how else to describe it, it sounds like when you almost have tuned into your radio station but not quite.

I was just contemplating getting another that would fit the enclosure but seems like I have some homework to do on this one first, I will check it out and see if in fact its the amp or the woofer first, thanks guys

But first I have to see if my little ac compressor swap worked or not the ac stopped blowing cold so yesterday I found this under the car and basically had to do a full ac comes sit swap and vacuum and recharge the system it seems to work fine but I have to go back and check to see if it's still holding or leaking !

The voice coil might very well be fried, you will feel it if you move the cone up and down with your finger. That would lead to scratchy audio.

Madisound is great, you might try calling them, might be markings, or they are aware of the application, and can hook u with a new driver easily (again, if someone doesn't have one for you.

exactly what am I feeling for when I move the coil up and down? I did move it but I don't remember anything specific it wasn't torn and it seems to move up and down normally unless they are not supposed to move at all??

The voice coil is behind the speakers cone (the part you can see). The coil is what is moved by the magnetic field that drives the cone creating the actual sound. The tolerance of the coil and the magnet are small. When over cooked, or through natural aging, the coil can then physically touch the magnet structure. When you push the cone in (the spider will bring it back out to the neutral position), should be perfectly smooth in and out. If there is the slightest scratchiness, the coil is done.

Soroush, I am home and very near X2 Builders. Look them up or call them. I can go look at it for you and bring with me to the rally if need be.
