Finally got all the pieces back together and I must say I am very happy with the installation, even though I went through two navigation systems and many hours of going back and forth with my installer Rawlings Audio to get a system put in without cutting any holes inside the cabin and without breaking the bank.
So here's what I did:
1) Install Clarion 7" Navigation unit using the center vent hole as a mount. The vent can be revert back to stock any time in the future.
2) Install license frame backup camera so there will be no drilling of any kind on the vehicle
3) Install K40 radar with laser diffuser while we had the car apart
4) While I had the seat out, had local leather upholstery shop lowered seat coushin of drivers seat by about 1 1/2 inch.
5) Remove factory subwoofer and conver with custom panel covered with leather to make room for carrying a racing halmet. Did anyone try to carry a helmet in the car???

Glad to see that I am not the only one with Black leather dash and different black airbag cover. :wink :biggrin

How do you like the knob? Looks a little small. I want to change mine as well, but want to keep it as stubby as possible.

The shiftknob isn't that small, it just sits very low on the shifter. As to the airbag cover, the color difference really isn't noticeable in regular light, just under the flash, the difference shows up.

Is the screen only for backup? Does it only activate when put into reverse? I'm curious is you can have it on all the time to act like a rear view mirror.

Wow, looks pretty sweet. Cost for screen/back-up?

What is the little unit next to the left of the stereo headunit?

Is that a garage door opener, or the remote display/control for the K40?

The Clarion will switch over to the rear view camera automatically, but once the car is moving, it'll revert back to either navigation or mp3 player. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the unit's output goes into the Mac. Aux input so the MP3 player and the Navigation voice get played on the Mac as well. The unit will also hold lots of pictures and play slideshows with its 20 Gig HD.
Small unit next to the console is just my garage opener. The knob for the K40 is hidden further up under the dash (don't want the cops to see that). The warning lights for the K40 are installed just behind the steering wheel.
The cost of the Nav. is just under a thousand, rear view camera is around $300, plus install. But you need to make sure the install is done right and cables shielded properly since there's a lot of heat in our engine compartment. My shop used the best shielding possible and it is a little more but definitely worth the trouble.
I'll most likely go to Cars and Coffee this Saturday if weather is nice so if you are local, you are more than welcome to come check the car out.

I thought that you were going to have a double din install where the McIntosh is seating.

I am so wrong.

I started out wanting a double DIN dash but due to cost, time, and complexity, I decided aginst it.
