Picked up my new F-150 All Aluminum Eco Boost today at WHQ.
Blue Flame XLT 4x4.
75 miles so far.. what a beautiful truck.! Seems much more nimble than my previous F-150 EcoBoost trucks ( this is my 3rd or 4th).
Possibly the combination of electric steering gear and 700 lbs lighter...
Will put 30-40,000 miles on it in the year...

Congrats on the new truck! Is this the 3.5L EB or the 2.7L?

I drove the 2015 3.5L at work a couple months ago and was very impressed. Enjoy the truck!

I just picked up a 2015 XLT FX4 with the 2.7EB motor in it last week and I'm loving it. I would never have even considered buying a full sized truck with a V-6 in it up until the last couple years but these EB equipped trucks are really impressive. I bet if you let a truck guy drive the thing and didn't let him/her know that it was a V-6 under the hood they would never be able to guess under normal driving conditions.

Update - My truck is the larger 3.7 EB with MaxTrailer Tow. Really loving the truck.! Just had it in for the 10,000 mile oil /filter change and check up at Ford WHQ.
Getting ready to order a 2016 soon. !

I'm in line to order one for spring delivery. After the rouge tour I'm really liking the new truck especially the extended sunroof. When do you guys believe the new raptor will hit the ground. Need to bolster my SVT points!

Are you towing with it? Just curious because I have an '05 F250 PSD H-D I bought new (I'll never part with it) but wouldn't mind picking up a new 1/2 ton if it can tow my car trailer. The max weight is 10k lbs but folks tell me I should stick to a 3/4 or 1 ton if I'm gonna tow with it.

How often are you towing that trailer? I think the tow rating on the EB is 11,700lbs - perhaps more now that they've gone to aluminum bodies. From my experience, the TT 3.5 is a BEAST of a motor and I think would do just fine with an occasional tow like that - and the rest of the time you have a handy, comfy 1/2 ton to use. If you tow that load a lot - once a month or more, then maybe overall you'd be happier sticking with a 3/4 ton.

I have towed with my F-150 V-6 Eco boost vehicles on several long trips.
Towed to Rallies in Salt Lake City and New Orleans with Eco Boost (not sure about VIR ..may not have had the Eco Boost released for F-150 that early.)

I tow a 22 foot Enclosed 'Classic' Brand (steel frame) trailer with the Ford GT inside.. About 7300 lbs total if I recall.
The V-6 Eco Boost towed better than the F-150 V-8s I used to tow to Texas, Las Vegas (Rally III) and
Scottsdale (Rally II).
I always order the ''Max Trailer Tow package'', big tires wheels and now it comes with the Electronic Brake Controller built into the Instrument Panel with Sway control, aluminum body etc...

I also tow with an F150, and its now older (2014 raptor), rated at 9000lbs. If you are not towing every weekend or for hire, gone are the days of thinking "1/2 ton" trucks cant tow. Especially if you use it daily (not towing) and would not mind the added comfort over the "one ton" stiffer suspension (and the reduced costs especially over a diesel F250+).

Don't you mean 3.5 L ecoboost 3.7 is NA?

I just pulled a trailer from California to Lincoln Nebraska and back with my aluminum F-150 and it was terrific. It would tow 70-75 mph up all the steep passes in Utah, California and Nevada with ease, trailer weight was around 8000 lbs with huge un-streamlined frontal area. I used to get diesels, never again, I drove a new Superduty while in Lincoln and it feels very old and heavy with very vague steering. The 2015 Ecoboost is more fun to drive than most cars, it is nimble, fast and handles well. Will be ordering a 2016 soon.

Yes. I must have meant the 3.5L...whatever displacement the larger eco boost is.. I am glad you really like yours too. Tows beautifully and very nice in town and on freeway and turnpike without trailer too.

What a great truck Andy and I know you always get your trailer and car towed down the road with style. I am waiting on an aluminum Expedition to come out, our 08 only has 70,000 miles on it but would go for a new one with Eco Boost. As far as towing with a 1/2 ton, with the way they are set up today it is not a problem as you know. To me the truck wheel base and hitch weight/type are the main consideration. Back in the old days I pulled a 35' camper all over the country with a 79 Bronco, some wild memories.

I asked Raj about the timing of new Al Expedition at the Rally and he was non-committal which I half-expected. My wife is on her 6th one, loves them, currently has a '12 King Ranch, and I am waiting for the Aluminum one. I too would love to be your friend, friend. May I PM you as well?

Yes. I am allocated (4) four Friends and family PIN'S each year. I like to use them all.
I will try to get some info on aluminum Expedition providing it is public domain and advise.
