My M2 Twin Turbo GTS

Hey guys, some of you know me from the Viper boards so I just wanted to share some pictures of my twin turbo GTS.

I finally decided to bite the bullet and twin turbo my car. After a ride in a couple TT vipers, I was hooked. My Roe build was awesome, but I was ready for a change. Plus, anyone that knows me can tell you I can’t keep anything the same for too long. Since Macedo Motorsports has been treating me very well for the past 5 years I decided to discuss my goals with Larry.

My car is mainly a street car, but I wanted something I could take to occasional track days and any viper drag racing events throughout the year. I did not want a race car, and I did not want to blow out some big dyno number just to show everyone at the local car show… I wanted a car that was STRONG on the street, fun to drive, and reliable (yes, I know at these power levels things can break at any time. Been down that road before). Every turbo build I saw in Larry’s shop was different, so he worked with me on what I wanted and didn’t want as far as the build/budget. Here’s what was done:

· Garrett GT40R T-4 turbos
· Tial 46mm waste gates, Tial 50mm BOVs
· Hot parts all stainless, coated with 2000 degree coating.
· All cold parts polished aluminum.
· Custom manifolds.
· FMIC
· Forged ceramic coated dished pistons (8.5:1 CR)
· Billet rods (7/16 bolts), bearing, etc.
· ProGram billet main caps.
· LSM cam
· My heads from previous build were checked out.
· Stock crank keyed, ATI damper
· Upgraded lifter, pushrods.
· ARP fasteners and studs.
· Extrude Honed and polished stock intake.
· Baffled oil pan.
· Billet pulleys.
· McCloud Twin Disk.
· Ab’s wires.
· Woodhouse Mounts.
· 95lb/hr injectors/billet rails, etc.

On the waste gate springs (0.4 bar approx 5psi) = 650rwhp, 750rwtq.

8.5psi = 800rwhp, 900rwtq

For now, tuning was stopped at 13psi. With a very conservative 20 degrees timing and FAT 10:1 AFR, the car made 953rwhp, 1073rwtq on 93. SAE of 1.01 and 95 degrees outside.

The car was left fat for my weather conditions. When the car was delivered, it was only 45 degrees up here. We wanted to lean the car out on the road, but the cold pavement made that a little hairy. We did a little street tuning and the car runs fantastic and I couldn’t be happier with the build quality! Driving season is about over for me, so this spring we will fine tune it a little more up here and put it back on the dyno for curiosity.

Here are some pics I took the other day. I am far from a photographer and the lighting was bad, so please keep that in mind.

Beautiful car. Thanks for posting the great details and pictures. Hopefully I can see the car in person during a PA or Ohio Viper event when I am up that way. If you don't mind, please let us know what you did with the suspension and wheels (They look like CCW's).

Thanks everyone!

Tim, you are correct. The wheels are 19" CCW SP600 with Eibach springs. I'm looking into Motons or Penskes down the road.

I just installed CCW wheels and Eibachs on my orange roadster, and the Eibachs on my 2006 Coupe. You can find a picture of the roadster in another thread on this forum section.

I really was surprised how well the chassis took to the Eibachs. Some of my other cars didn't like the Eibachs so well!

I'd love to have a GT one day. I have only driven 1 so far, and that was enough to want one.:biggrin
