Problem is, it's hard to find any ammunition these days in so cal...The shelves are bare.

Mail order components and roll your own, the only way to get large amounts of ammo.

I always tell people home ownership is only an illusion. The government really own your home and you pay rent each year (property taxes) to live in it and you must get permission (permits) from the real owner (city, county, state) before you can make any changes to it. Do you know in most cities you are required to get a permit to change even a light switch, or wall outlet!

Absolutely beautiful!
Having built three houses(none as ambitious), I can tell you that it will take longer than six months to complete it from where you are now. They always drag out when you get to the interior.

That has been my experience too, but sometimes miracles happen.

In 8 weeks from today, Stucco, drywall and roofing will be done. 6 weeks for travertine and 8 weeks for cabinets with slight overlap. 4 weeks for interior doors, paint, crown and base molding and then another month or 2 for finishing. Sep/Oct is the target - we'll see. I do have four full timers working for me exclusively so that should help with the details etc... My standing rule is that my wife can only go there once a week and preferably on Fridays. BTW, all the hardscape/landscape is finished with the exception of the 300 foot driveway.

On a side note, the famous Ron Hubbard Metal Doors guy bid the major front entry door and the side door at $23K & $8K respectively - I asked him to help rationalize how it is more than the cost/engineering of a car and the discussion went south from there. I had a friend of mine that owns a window fabrication shop build the same doors in China with faster delivery for $5,100 and $900 respectively. They are on the boat now.

Pretty sad isn't it? If I want to make it nicer, I have to pay for it and then the rent increases. Makes you want ot live in a cardboard box under and overpass. The only way to get even. Would need a double wide to park the GT in. :banana

Very Nice! Looks like you chose a good architect. HHGT I own and operate a Plastering(stucco) and Drywall Construction company. Im third generation in the business, we started in 1928. Anyway if you run into any concern's with your contractor, I can answer questions.

Kyle, Sam is one step ahead of you.

There are 6 garage doors, all 12' wide, with a total square footage of approximately 3000 square feet and a subterranean Motor Home/Trailer parking structure.

The motor home/trailer parking is really for BMWs.

Sam is a closet BMW owner.
