guessing you don't need to wax the film on the car? How long does it look shiny and clear? Guesstimate on cost?

Best move I did before driving to Daytona was to have Xpel installed on entire front end of my GT including windshield. Best product on the market and its from Texas.

Depends on how much you do, and who does it. I would guess basic kits start around $1000 (front bumper, mirrors) possibilities are endless, I have some cars where the whole front clip is done. Then as Ron has done above, the whole car. The xpel is by far the best looking film I have seem. Whole car should set you back $7-10k. Again the prices vary greatly, but for sure, the material alone is not cheap, and good installers are not either. Don't forget the interior door sills.

I did the entire front clip, it cost approximately $1,700. He did some other small areas that I requested as well. I really love the stuff and apply it to almost every car I own if driven.

Cheers,

Lance

In Houston had the front clip, mirrors, headlights and side fenders and I had already purchased windshield material they installed for additional $150 for a total of $1,650. I wouldn't use any other material but Apex. Thanks for posting the video Lance. Tomy Hamon

I have the basic coverage: front hood, front quarters, mirrors, and headlight/fog lights on a tungsten (twin to Lance's car). I have "Ultimate" version which is their top of the line...its been on 3 years and worth every penny ($900).

That's strange, I've had him do a bundle of cars. In fact, he's taking my mom's E63 wagon in tomorrow for Xpel & a cleaning. I'll check and let you know. I do have a really good guy I can refer you too if Jon fails.

Talk soon,

Lance

I just picked my car up last week, and am delighted with the results. Hopefully won't have to deal with road-rash issues for a long time.

I had paint correction done before the film. Car looks better than new. Detailer did a fantastic job. Real professional. He also did a C-Quartz coating of the whole car after filming. ( Yes - no wax required on film or coating. ) His total cost was approx $ 1800.

Filmed full front clip, mirrors, a-pillar, and rockers, and he will do scoops as well. If you didn't know it was there, you would never notice. Really nice installation. Cost was approx. $ 2400.

Xpel has pre-cut, computer-generated patterns for these parts. Rest of the car would have to be hand cut. Decided I would put that decision off to a later date, when I can work out some logistics. Feel pretty good about the new protection though.

Ron Savenor (roketman) has done his GT and Porsche GT3 completely, and they look terrific. I looked at him using quick detailer on the GT in Detroit, and couldn't believe it was filmed. He would be a good source for info on specifics of full coating.

Forgot.

pristinedetailing.net has photos of my car, including some before-and-after side-by-side photos that really show the impact of good paint correction. I would say the paint wasn't terrible from a normal distance, but when you look closely, there is a lot of stuff in there. When it's buffed correctly, it all goes away. Really pops! Cover it with film, and hopefully it will stay that way for a long, long time.

I'm scheduled for Xpel on my one GT in Plymouth, MI in a couple weeks. had to pull the bumper off this winter for paint work due to a couple rock chips and don't want to go thru that again. If it looks as good as everyone says, I'll take another one there as well. they do have pre-patterns in their computer for specific cars including the GT. Also, I was pretty impressed with Trent's car at Rally X with the windshield protector. couldn't even tell it was there. nice.
