I thought I had the more light than anyone, but you have me beat. I have 48 T8 4" bulbs in a 600 sqft room. I did this 12 years ago, if I were to do it today, LEDs!
2800 SQ FT...now that's a nice size garage and I understand now why 13 fixtures aren't enough. You'd need at least 3 -4 times that in the T5's if not more, to get operating room lumens...and those fixtures disperse more light to the ground the higher up they're placed...like a minimum of 12' of height to get good, uniform light to the ground. 6 bulbs / fixture does eat quite a bit of power however.
This is what I'm using now in my new garage (in white) - all LED. $$ but well worth it. My buddy is a partner in this outfit and I get all the neatest stuff from him before they come to market.

Mine are not listed for some reason, but the unit is identical, except there are 100 LED's / panel and I'm putting down 20k lumens / panel. I used 13 panels IIRC for 1110 SQ ft . You actually cannot look directly at the light; they're that bright! I flush mounted mine - they come with the 5" extended frame kits but can be flush mounted if desired. The panels are 120 watts each, as opposed to 320 in a 6-bulb T5 configuration, but the LEDS generate more ambient light with an overall better dispersion, and no heat. They're sealed units - so no dust gets in to them either.
In my new garage, I'm using 6061 T6 x .187 mill finish aluminum which were laser cut into 6' x 24" tiles, to be placed in a staggered brick style over all the walls, with grouting. I think the pallets came in at 4400 LB's of weight in total.
Once the garage is done, I will definitely post pictures!
Hey Gary, so where is the motor for the far garage door. If it is on the side, I can't see it. I may do something like that with mine if I put a hoist in. Your garage is looking great.

Thanks. I see where it's at now. Cost? I assume you had a garage door company do it, or did you do it?
Looks great Gary. Plenty of height for a lift. Must be the week for garage projects. My garage a/c should be finished tomorrow.
P.S. I have no idea what a supply plenum is, but diamond plate sounds good.
For what you will pay for the screens, you should really consider a/c. I am getting a 2 1/2 ton split system (heat pump) installed for about $4,500, with a custom made, diamond plate supply plenum. I've lived in Florida since the 1970s, and it's just too humid during the summer. I don't mind the heat so much, but the humidity kills me when I work in the garage. Maybe I am just getting old.
He's probably using the Liftmaster 3800 series jackshaft motors! They're DC motors and fully adjustable for travel. Can't buy a better setup - I have 'em on all three doors and they're silent motors with no chains or pulleys...not expensive either. I'd never buy anything else.
The plenum (what I call the air handler, with condenser inside) for my home is in the garage. Maybe I can just add some ducting, vents, and thermostat and make the garage zone 4 of the home A/C/heat pump system.
